... Nope.
People in IT, are you seeing that people in our field are just getting increasingly nasty and rude in day-to-day stuff? Or is it just me?

24.06.2025 17:21 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0There's something surreal about watching a company spend a significant amount of staff time to make a platform change because an AI model says a piece of hardware should be running faster than it is (or can).
16.06.2025 18:40 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I love irony. I just got a report of someone rebuilding a #SQLServer monitoring tool's deadlock tracking table because... of... deadlocks.

One strategic #SQLServer covering index took a critical report from 1.25h @ 990MB/s I/O reads to just 78 milliseconds. I can live with that.

I get to see more of these sorts of things on a daily basis, and it's a lot of fun to fix stuff. This one fix added about 30% speed to the entire ERP system's database calls, and the staff can feel it!
