It's pretty amazing how insistent the OS vendors are at pushing AI-driven nonsense down our throats... I don't need your AI app pinned to my desktop, launch bar, anything.

Arguing with an ISV who has a database design that needs significant optimization is almost a hobby at this point…

People in IT, are you seeing that people in our field are just getting increasingly nasty and rude in day-to-day stuff? Or is it just me?

There's something surreal about watching a company spend a significant amount of staff time to make a platform change because an AI model says a piece of hardware should be running faster than it is (or can).

After having multiple AI models misquote / fabricate things I've said with completely wrong info, I've pulled all of my blog content going back 15 years. I'll be back to writing sometime soon but behind an opt-in wall. Paraphrasing / quoting me is fine, but hallucinating completely false info - no.

Thick skin is a must. Patience is a must if you want to enact long-term positive change. Positioning key pieces today for future database improvement is fun :)
