EFFECTS: Immediate, wider area of strong degradation or signal loss in high frequency (HF) communication bands over much of the sunlit side of Earth; users of HF radio signals may experience loss of contact or major disruptions for a period of minutes to a couple of hours in the affected areas.

Deja vu! Exactly 26 hours after Active Region 4274 produced an X1.7 flare, it generated an X1.2 flare (R3-Strong on the NOAA Scales) at 10/0919 UTC. As Region 4274 continues to maintain a complex magnetic structure, additional flares are possible for the next 24-48 hours. www.swpc.noaa.gov
