📲 Yesterday, I was honored to moderate the New York State Council on Developmental Disabilities' Advocacy Institute panel discussion about the power of advocacy, with self-advocates and family members of New Yorkers with developmental disabilities telling their stories.

📲 California has banned the use of masks for ICE agents. Now, New York State must follow suit and pass my MELT Act to defend the U.S. Constitution.

🇺🇸 September 11th, 2001, was a day of profound pain, anguish, and loss for all Americans and New Yorkers.

At a time when it seems that what divides us is more pronounced than ever, today, we come together as one people and as New Yorkers, united, to say: #NeverForget.

While billionaires collect their tax breaks, seniors are paying more for healthcare. In New York State, we have your back.

I signed a letter alongside State Senator Shelley Mayer and 25 of my Senate colleagues to the New York State Department of Financial Services that asks the Department to use its authority immediately to reject this increase.

📝 18% premium increases for UnitedHealthcare Medicare supplemental plans at a time when New York seniors are struggling to afford groceries, mortgages, and their prescriptions is wrong.

These increases are a direct result of the Trump administration's reckless tariffs.

He moved into this home on Clinton Avenue with his wife Adella the same year they were married.

Our history is what unites us. When we embrace it, it builds understanding and bridges within our communities. Thank you to HAF for continuing to keep our local history alive and well.

James was a trailblazer, and was the first Black New Yorker to win elected office as a judge in New York State.

In 1870, he became the first Black New Yorker and Albanian to graduate from Albany Law School.

📜 Albany’s history runs deep, is diverse, and helps bind our community together.

I joined the Historic Albany Foundation (HAF) to unveil a marker commemorating James C. Matthew’s home on Clinton Avenue.

As your State Senator, I will fight like hell to protect your Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and food assistance.

In New York State, we’re going to keep making life easier for our seniors instead of expecting them to foot the bill for billionaire tax cuts.

Social security is under attack at the federal level, but I know that this is an earned benefit you’ve paid into your entire lives, and one you expect to be there during retirement.

I joined the local chapter of the Alliance for Retired Americans to discuss the challenges ahead for seniors.

I want to wish all of our outstanding students, families, teachers, administrators, bus drivers, and all those who keep our public schools running a great start to a wonderful year. Do your best and leave it all on the field or in the classroom!

🛑 Remember to stop completely for school buses dropping off and picking up students. Slow down in school zones and help all of our kids get to and from school safely.

📲 All schools are implementing bell-to-bell cell phones under new state policy, helping students and teachers return to learning in our classrooms. Check with your district to see how they are implementing this and talk with your kids about what it’ll mean for day-to-day communication.

Welcome back to school, Capital Region students, parents, and teachers! As the first days of school begin, I wanted to share three reminders:

🥗 Every Capital Region student, regardless of school district, will receive at least one free, fresh school meal every day.

So, as kids return to school this week, I'm hopeful this takes one small thing—packing a lunch—off your 'plate'. When kids are hungry, they can't learn, and this will help put some money back in the pockets of hardworking parents.

I'm proud that my Senate colleagues and I were able to secure this investment as the current federal administration slashes food assistance for kids and families.

🍎 For the first time, starting this school year, every student in New York State will receive one free meal every day at school.

Whether you pack, buy, or make a lunch, school lunch costs are up, but now students will have a hot, fresh meal waiting for them at school each day, helping reduce costs.

NYers are united in wanting to keep our communities safe from Trump's lawless secret police.
