A new statewide survey shows that NY’s bell-to-bell smartphone restrictions are already delivering significant benefits for students and teachers.

The Governor’s Office received more than 350 responses from schools that implemented the distraction-free policy.

As someone who has worked closely with families affected by substance use disorders, I have seen how important early engagement can be. By fixing this regulatory gap, we’re ensuring that clinicians can offer stabilizing medications when a patient needs them.

Happy that Gov Hochul has signed legislation I sponsored along with Senator Nathalia Fernandez - S.3416D/A.5892 into law, expanding access to medication that supports individuals beginning maintenance or detoxification treatment for substance use disorder.

This memorial will stand as a solemn tribute to the millions of lives lost and to the pain and suffering endured by families during one of humanity’s darkest chapters.

I am grateful to the Gov for signing this legislation and to MOA Gabriella A. Romero and Sen Patricia A. Fahy for shepherding it through the process. History remains one of our greatest educators, and it is both right and just that the NYS Holocaust Memorial will be located in the Capital City.

Earlier this week Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation to establish a New York State memorial at the Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza in Albany to recognize victims and survivors of the Holocaust.

Joseph served in the U.S. Army as a Medical Specialist, caring for Soldiers from the Korean War, and went on to build a life rooted in family and community as a small business owner.

Their legacies live on through their families, friends, and all who continue to honor their memory.

Frank served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII as a Remote Control Turret Mechanic and received both the American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. After returning home, he spent decades serving his community in Green Island.
