I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Somebody was trying to tell me that CDs are better than vinyl because they don't have any surface noise. I said, "listen mate, life has surface noise."

I was telling one of my kids that it was physically impossible for an ad to play between songs on any of the records I own, and they asked "and you only have to pay for it once?" and you could see how strange that seemed. You cannot overstate how many basic rules of media consumption have changed.

So sad about Mike Peters. Lovely man, family friend. The Alarm one of the first bands I saw. Endured anti-Welsh mockery, and not everyone's cuppa (sincere/heartfelt in an age of irony/artifice) but gave it such ATTACK. Same attack Mike gave his fight with cancer. Rock in peace, Mike Peters. First sighted with The Alarm, Dingwalls, 1982, the night Johnny Thunders came on for Sylvain Sylvain's encore. Last connection - the happy and optimistic email he sent me a month ago, still full of life and good feeling. Travel on well, Dude.
