Does anyone have any personal experience of using Cinch to buy a used car? Good or bad.
It's just that buying a car online that I've never seen in-person or test driven and picking it up in the ASDA carpark doesn't scream "good idea!" at me.

That's exactly how I look when I have to take the Tube!
Excellent paint job.
Ah shit... I hear Warhammer Dwarfs and twenty-years ago, and I imagine the mid 1990's, not the mid 2000's... my knees hurt.
05.01.2026 21:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I still haven't seen the last forty minutes, and I started watching it before Christmas. It feels like a very LONG film!
01.01.2026 11:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Boxing Day...
Turkey and pickled onion sandwiches, dry roasted peanuts and Toblerone for breakfast. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!
Thanks, that was all really helpful.
I still think that when the time comes I might practice a bit on flat ground first though!
...I've got to be honest, I'd be pretty nervous trying that in an automatic car with no clutch pedal, AND apparently a lot of modern cars have an electronic/automatic handbrake. I think in one of those I'd just close my eyes and pray!
So an automatic will move when in "drive" without accelerator?
Some pretty steep hills in this part of the UK! If I was starting out, parked, facing uphill, I would; put the car into first gear, find the biting point using the accelerator and the clutch. Then when I could feel the car straining to move forwards, I'd release the handbrake and move off...
30.11.2025 08:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0...Don't get me wrong. I'd love an electric car and I'd chose one over a petrol engine if I could. But for me at least, the cost and inconvenience of an electric vehicle and the unknown factors, makes them a luxury item that I can't afford.
29.11.2025 08:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For me it's about price and familiarity. A used electric car is going to cost me double to triple a petrol one. I've never driven an electric car, I don't even know anyone who has. Are they all automatics, how do you do a hill start in an automatic, where would I charge it?...
29.11.2025 08:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0The Free plastic Wizard on the cover of White Dwarf 186 (I had the Bright Wizard pictured) was my first Citadel Miniature, I got the set of Dwarf Warriors around the same time.
I'd love to get my hands on that Wizard model again to paint 30 years later! I managed to get some of the Dwarfs on eBay.
Ah yes, my favourite time of the year. When I can almost constantly smell smoke and am permanently paranoid that our house is on fire.
So glad that wood burners became fashionable for a brief period a few years ago and all of our neighbours just had to rush out and buy them!
They came free on the cover of White Dwarf 186. My first issue, and the Bright Wizard was my first-ever GW model. I'd love to get hold of one and paint it now, 30 years later!
I see them on eBay every now and then, but only for spiteful prices :(
Damn, now I feel lucky being 52,800th in the queue!
10.10.2025 18:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have a theory that GW sold off huge job-lots of their old carrier bags. I keep seeing people completely unaffiliated with the hobby walking around with mint-condition late 90s/early 2000s GW carrier bags in my home town! I think they might be getting them from a charity shop.
18.09.2025 15:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Wow, that red!
14.09.2025 20:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That red is so vibrant! All of my red paints seem to dull so much when they dry.
02.08.2025 06:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I heard they were just renaming them "Hero" air fryers.
Thirty-five year old joke there. Gotta stay on the cutting edge.
Nothing brings home the fact that youβre 42 and not 18 anymore quite like thinking; βThat carβs pretty close to mine, Iβll get in the passenger side and climb overβ.
24.07.2025 16:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, thankfully it's a perfect match and readily available! Saved my Imperial Fists!
19.07.2025 16:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Colour scheme first, then name. THEN GW discontinue the primary paint colour from said scheme.
Then start collecting Imperial Fists. THEN GW discontinue Averland Sunset spray... π
I was ten when Jurassic Park came out in 1993. When they referred to "gas powered jeeps" I thought they were converted to run on hydrogen or something.
Please America, call it petrol or diesel as appropriate, not "gas"!
If I have learned one thing from the Internet, it's this...
...never hold a cake with one hand.
I hate that it takes just one tiny moment to fill me with rage and days to burn it back off.
It then takes a Herculean conscious effort not to pass that anger on to others.
Be aware of your behaviour people, anger spreads like a virus.
I wish I had a 3D Printer! These are awesome, really, really awesome.
26.04.2025 16:05 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm going! Got a little more spending money this time, so I'm going to treat myself to a boat trip along the Thames from Waterloo to close to the ExCeL. Got to be an improvement on the Underground!
10.04.2025 20:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Also my birthday! The sun is shining, it's my day off and I live by the coast. All-in-all, a good first day of Spring! (Although minus points for hay fever season).
20.03.2025 14:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for the heads-up. Just checked and my journey home after Salute now involves a replacement bus. I swear the train home from Salute is cursed. Every year it's something. Still better than the year I got on the train, ate all my food and then found that ALL of the toilets were out of order.
19.03.2025 17:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I love'THEM!' it's a great old movie.
07.03.2025 17:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That blue glows! There's a really fine texture to the armour panels that makes it look like real tank armour. Is that some kind of stippling effect or drybrush?
