Finally the last of my dragons for Dungeons & Dragons The Book of Dragons. Unlike the others who are merely decorated with crystals, this boy is crystal to the bone; like a gummy worm made of rock.

I don’t stream really anymore so it’s fun get a little piece of that again haha.

It's hard to make yourself study but I will say it's a little easier when you're studying butts.... or anything else you may be particularly interested in.

Buncha butts. Photo of pencil studies of booties and hips. Trying to ensure I gain enough understanding of the region to draw it from memory for future pinup and character work. The tendons on the front are tricky, and it's especially hard to judge perspective and occlusion from low POV angles.

Abbey Chase, hero of the famous late 90's comic Danger Girl. Never thought I would draw this character, let alone be able to. Seems odd to say, but my memories of J Scott Campbell's work are wrapped up in the guilt of my religious upbringing. This was a very fulfilling and cathartic project.

The color was random at first, but by the end of the drawing it reminded me of pea pods - they have a gradient from violet to green p: 🫛

Thumbnails that didn't make the cut, but I love them all. Sometimes I spend all day making comps and throw 'em all out to draw something relatively tame instead lol. But the prompt was a classic pinup. 🤷‍♂️ Probably shoulda done the chopper comp though, wouldn't have had to draw an entire vespa...
