And 3 points for a win for #LeedsCityFC instead of 2...

24.07.2025 21:09 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

And what about the other way round, then? Leeds United wins since 1982 gaining just 2 points instead of 3 & its impact on league table finishes...
I'm probably years behind some folks on this and I still have reservations as to the accuracy of results but what a great tool #CoPilot could be! #lufc

You know I'm a bit of a stats dinosaur, right? A4 pad/pen & Excel!
Well I asked this Copilot A.I. thing to summarise what the impact would be of 3 points instead of 2 for a win on Leeds United's league positions prior to 1982. A project 'to do' on my long list. In no time... unverified so far! #lufc

Superb find in a bottom drawer? Different colours?

Finishing off the #lufc memories from issues of 1970's football publication, 'Scorcher & Score'.
Drawings cheaper than paying for the real photos or because it was primarily a comic?
Fire at the City Ground; a welcome own goal; Mick Jones & Juve again; and a true picture tribute to Jack Charlton 💛🤍💙

Another mix of drawn adaptations and real pictures of #lufc action from the early 1970's.
Can you guess the players in white v Sutton in the #FACup?;
despicable controversy v Chelsea; Allan Clarke's opener v Juventus in Europe; & Peter Lorimer pulls the trigger!
All from 'Scorcher & Score' comics 🤩

Peter Lorimer & Allan Clarke 'nipping' in to score for #lufc in the next comic-strips! Thankfully the one with Norman Hunter is named otherwise it may have been a challenge to identify? No such problem with David Harvey's, pictured in 'Scorcher & Score', where you'd find the "Lags Eleven" storyline.

#lufc stars Eddie Gray, Johnny Giles & Gary Sprake in true likeness, not debatable cartoons, but all again from early 1970's issues of 'Scorcher & Score' - host of many childhood favourites, including, "Nipper".

Move along if bored, I've had a great day with these and there's more of them to come!

And here are some Jack Charlton cartoons, joined by a couple of Mick Jones sketched #lufc memories.
Anybody guess what feature story I would mention next from 1970's, 'Scorcher & Score' comic?
"Jimmy of City", of course!
But this time that's not a clue to the next images to be shared tonight...

More from the 1970's via football publication, Scorcher & Score.
Mentioned "Billy's Boots" earlier and Leeds skipper Bremner in the last.
So only natural for more of the King to be shared here!
"Jack of United" was another popular comic-strip so you can guess which #lufc legend I'm sharing next!

Next up from 'Scorcher & Score' soccer comic in 1971 also includes Terry Cooper.
An advertisement for collectable model busts of a Great Britain select chosen by Joe Mercer. Also including #lufc captain Billy Bremner.
I'd be impressed if somebody has one, both & even all of these to show us! 🤞

Did you notice the intentional error from, "Know All" in the first of tonight's shares from early 1970's issues of the popular football comic, 'Scorcher & Score'? (Home of "Bobby of the Blues").
If not, check out the Terry Cooper clip. Here's some other features with the #lufc Left Back (clue!)... 😉

Tonight I'm flicking through 1970-73 issues of Scorcher, the soccer comic.
Lots of old familiar feature stories, such as Billy's Boots, but when not distracted by those I'm picking out #lufc related cartoons.
Kicking off with "Know All". Most true, but one with an intended error. You know which?! 😉

Brilliant, isn't it. The Stephen Warnock interview is surprising good too - insightful on Cellino's Leeds!

Find time to listen to this Billy - a slow start but hilarious once it gets going. Swan mentions your mystery guest & a surprising task he had! Obvs plenty of Leeds mentions - one of the best I've heard.
Third time lucky posting the correct link!

He's a very confident lad. Quite rightly believes in his own ability. I heard he was getting increasingly frustrated at Leeds and we simply couldn't give him the opportunity he craved.
The move abroad will no doubt prove to be the best thing he ever did & I bet he's not complaining now. Nor us...

Are these made public today or just submitted/ the deadline for the accounting vultures to start interrogating in the background?

Reading social media, many would keep every promising kid just in case they turn out to be good. Not considering the fact they may wish to move on - might not fit with the manager's plans - by releasing them it frees up funds to invest in experienced players. Etc!
Good luck to him, we all moved on.

There is a brilliant write up of Farke's 2nd season in the Prem on the Athletic. His champ team was brilliant, led by Emi and Skipp, both of whom didn't return. Many of the decisions that year appeared to be taken at SD level rather than Farke, who was backed with £ but not in the way he wanted.

Some more Matchday 'factfile' data prep for United's new season, delving further into Daniel Farke's past record against next season's Premier League opposition - mainly as Norwich City manager.
Farke yet to beat 11 of the 19 Leeds will face, with 100% losses against three, unbeaten v one...

OMG! I had no idea! Have you done that for every player in our history - that's awesome and would definitely help to get back on it! I moved on to other projects as I was going bozz-eyed interrogating the ENFA site!! Done a load of 'other notables' who faced Leeds too. Need retirement to keep going!

Sorry, I'm late to see this. Had to dig out an old project to confirm what I thought (Irwin), as it has sprung up in quizzes.
I forgot I had started this until I saw your challenge!
Did squads & icons from different Leeds eras - done over 200 players and managers so there's lots to do yet. Sometime!
