the Irish Department of Social Protection has a Public Consultation on the Cost of Disability and anyone interested can make a written submission, a video submission, or a submission by phone. the deadline is 7 April 2026.

i haven't seen it mentioned on here yet so i thought i'd say something. it's about an annual payment rather than an overall increase to disability-related social welfare payments but maybe sending an email gives someone enough money so they don't freeze or starve to death next winter

the hse's current advice for a number of health conditions is to wear a mask and avoid people with symptoms. i wore a mask at a funeral before christmas and didn't get sick while loads of other people did. it also feels like the politically correct choice with this whole measles situation too
