When we moved to the Bay Area for my partner’s job, I didn’t know a soul. But almost immediately, @ryanlinnbrown.bsky.social and @sanjanacurtis.bsky.social became my closest friends. It’s hard to form new, deep connections as an adult, but it’s like the three of us have known each other forever.

As researchers or clinicians, how do we navigate conversations about the demands of caring (i.e., "cost of caring") without minimizing the importance of care work?

Dr. Giscombé shared her thoughts on navigating difficult conversations around coping based on her research into Superwoman Schema.

I'm especially grateful to have this early-career space to lean into my own intellectual curiosity, love of lifelong learning, and the opportunity to absorb feedback from so many brilliant folks in this department.

In our episode on building #stem careers, we asked guests to reflect on mistakes in their careers, how they approached them & how it may have affected their future research. Dr. Almeida reflected on needing measures of positive events in addition to stress.
