We saw them in 1986 in Glasgow.

It's in our collection.

A black and white photo of The Dave Brubeck Quartet. And two black and white photos of the band The Stranglers. "Central to the song’s peculiar allure was its triple-metre waltz rhythm. The beats are grouped in threes, with Greenfield’s harpsichord adding an extra beat to complete a movement of 13 beats. In terms of time signature, this translates to three bars of 3/4 followed by one of 4/4. The waltz rhythm is said to be directly inspired by Paul Desmond’s influential jazz classic ‘Take Five’ from Dave Brubeck’s legendary 1959 album Time Out. The resemblance is indeed uncanny." - Jordan Potter, FAR OUT magazine

'Take Five' from Dave Brubeck's 1959 album influenced the post punk band The Stranglers to write 'Golden Brown' in 1982 which then influenced sax player Lawrence Mason to create 'The Take Vibe' in 2020. Listen in link:

Blown away.

Living moss, air plants, and other greenery make up a headdress and body armor draped on an ebony female mannequin. This piece is part of an exhibit at the Sturt Haaga Gallery within the grounds of Descanso Gardens in La Canada. The exhibit is called "Daphne's Wardrobe: Metamorphosis Into Nature." This particular piece is created by Melissa Meier and the exhibit wall states: "The difference in Meier's armor is that it is not modeled on male battle attire but on a transfiguration into nature, becoming one with it." When Tiny Lantern visited this exhibit, a worker was gently spraying the piece with a fine mist of water. This exhibit runs until June 1, 2025.

A tiny plastic baby, with arms spread wide, lies in the center of a blood-red rose. This photograph is by Mike Smith who is an artist, photographer, and Mardi Gras float designer born and bred in South Louisiana. "The enchanting presence of the baby, cradled on a bed of a single rose, speaks to the sacred solitude and comfort of the womb," says Smith. "Surrounded by black, darkness adds the timeless sense of the unknown. The plastic sheen of the baby signifies the reification of light. The rose, blood and life, imbued within the geometry of time, calls forth the immortal nature of the soul."

In pagan times
a dried fava bean or coin

That is groovy!

A white envelope with a United States postage stamp in the right corner. The postage stamp image is a body of water with a beautiful sunset of lavender, fuchsia, pink, deep blue and orange. A field of green is below the water. A colored pencil drawing extends the sunset, water and field all the way across the envelope with the same shades as the stamp. It gives the effect that the stamp and colored pencil are all one cohesive piece of art.
