It examines the ways the horror genre and the comics medium challenge convention, blur boundaries, represent monstrosity, create emotional affect and express social, political, and environmental fears.

‘The Brontës as Gothic Writers’ explores ways in which the Brontës’ prose and poetry is Gothic. It argues that understanding the Brontës’ writing in these terms helps the reader appreciate what was important to them in their literature.

Beyond the Lesbian Vampire investigates the violent lesbian’s resurgence and reclamation within contemporary queer horror.

As a postmodern work, the surface material of the Stalker Film alludes to past and ongoing cultural forms, to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, for example, to the theories of Sigmund Freud, or even to Laura Mulvey on the male gaze. These forms are not used to enlighten but are exploited to maximum visceral effect. Positioned at the rise of the Reagan era, the Stalker Film questions the Horror Film genre and engages a mass audience response.

Some gems in here if you want to have a sniff around. I can recommend the Arthurian books, the series on Gothic fiction, and, of course "Between Wales and England" by @gwenynen.bsky.social of this parish.
