Not sure if I posted this one before. My Dad’s compositors equipment. Helpfully he labelled a lot of it up. My Dad worked for the same firm for 52 years.

Yes. I will do a scan for family names but would’ve thought I would know of this if β€œus”. In the 90s we received some items from an estate where the spouse or parent was RFC. I know the name so will check that too.

Those wooden huts..🀣 Our leaders regularly let us play crab football on the always terribly dusty floor. We were always kicking out the tube lights smashing them across the floor.

I’d love to see a count. Our small town of 10,000 has three replica barbers. Two largely empty. There were already at least four local barbers. I passed a corner shop in the city on way home emitting enough light for the football stadium. Next door to a similar β€œbarbers” of course. 🀣

Inside a copy of β€œThe British Printer” is a leaflet extolling the virtues of a factory music system!

Commando comic entitled β€œFlying Destroyer” with a Molins gun equipped Beaufighter on the cover. This may not be historically accurate. It’s a comic.

My stupid idea to build a Commando Comic wall piece just based on editions featuring the Beaufighter has, predictably, resulted in me trying to find them all. So far I’ve identified 21 comics.

Oddly absolutely none of them show a Banff or North Coates Strike Wing aircraft with the stripes.

One for @robertglennie.bsky.social - I enjoyed listening to parents teaching their kids absolute nonsense today. Apparently WW2 was the first time troops encountered tanks. β€œImagine seeing that for the first time”. So close..
