Why is it when someone comes to the Us from Europe they are an “Immigrant “ but when they come from Mexico/Latin America they are “Migrants”? Aren’t they both coming here for a better opportunity?(At least in the past)

Still in shock over the comments my professor left on my paper

It has been 20ish years since I have had to write a final paper for a grad class. Back then, all my papers had some tie to pop culture. I continued the trend with my maths paper: “We Can Be Heroes”: Encouraging Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Mathematics Space.

This past quarter I took a course on teaching maths. Maths and my brain do not go well together. I had to work HARD to comprehend a lot and finish any computing assignments. But I did it!! And managed to earn an “A” in the class!!
