Good! Pretty audacious to choose to move next door to long established cultural premises and attempt to close them down.

Risk of "higher education financial failure" rated by DfE in annual report as "criticalβvery likely". A failure would impact "students, sector and economy".
Might raise questions about whether there should be greater policy response to this threat?

Once you swat away the "You can't do X/Y/Z at 16" arguments, the opposition to votes at 16 really boils down to one thing - The same people who repeatedly make generationally selfish or awful decisions on behalf of everyone deciding that younger voters can't be trusted to make their own decisions.
17.07.2025 12:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Some very interesting (and necessary) stuff here:
- Voting age reduced to 16.
- Expanding voter ID forms including digital.
- Increasingly automated voter registration.
- Closing foreign donation loopholes.

Criminal justice system finally getting some more attention now. Some predictably shameless interventions from former (Conservative) Government Ministers. Years of court closures, budget cuts and managed decline led to this. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Wage stagnation, expensive housing, smaller private pensions are going to be a terrible combination.
A great read reflecting the increasingly shambolic criminal justice system.

Doing anything involving expenditure at a University is enough to seriously consider a career change. The sheer waste of time and resources is staggering.

It's not the biggest problem education is facing but at some point the preference of parents and students for coursework and fewer exams is going to collide with the fact that AI probably necessitates a big return to in-person exams

2029! A vital part of Art. 6 ECHR is that "Everyone is entitled to a fair and public hearing within a reasonable time". We're going to see more and more trials falling foul of that.
