(Arguably, this is one case where it may be of use - business users wanting to analyze their data without having to study SQL or the DB schema - but there's a big chance of creating unoptimized queries. Not to mention the whole resource usage of LLMs thing.)

It's time (to look for a new job)

Spent 3 days at a workshop with basically only academic computer scientists and it is scary how many fundamental democratic rules and concepts are put up for debate constantly. CS won't save us. Not one bit.

First time using Cheat Engine to change values in a game. Also thinking about how the game logic works as I play it. Good mental exercise!

As today marks five years since the start of lockdown, I remember that they that kept me company when meeting your friends was discouraged. Salute to the silly people who live on my computer!

Feels nice when people in an online group, who live all over the world, meet up. Sadly I probably won't be one of them, since most live in the US, and why would I want to go there?

I don't know what recent technology has actually impressed me. Of course there's a lot of things coming out, but all with terrible social costs

Ever think about how Facebook convinced all the news outlets to pivot to video and then it turned out they were juicing the metrics so it didn't actually work but by that point lots of the media had cut all the resources for text-based news and we're still dealing with the fallout from that now?

Went back home to have dinner and the recent BINI concert was streaming on the TV. I'm not really a fan, but my ears perked up when the backing band was being introduced and they were playing Overture 1928 by Dream Theater. You can hear it on the fancam below.

I already crashed in another part of that road months ago. I couldn't merge to another lane because of vehicles passing there, and I was unable to avoid a large, square pothole in front of me as I was going at speed.

I rarely go by that route now.

It was rush hour, on a payday Friday, which happened to be Valentine's Day. Traffic was nearly at a standstill, and so I went to the middle and filtered through the lanes. However, I found it difficult to return to the bike lane as I neared my exit, and nearly got rear ended.

2. When I ride on Elliptical Road, I do vehicular cycling. The width of the road and the slip lanes encourage speeding and last minute exits, making it hard to cross intersections using the bike lanes. So I just ride in traffic.

I probably should've taken a cab or hitched a ride with my friend instead of risking a crash or mugging.

Made some bad decisions last week.

1. Biked to dinner and then to my friend's house with my trifold, reasoning that I could fold it and bring it inside places. While true, the roads in the area were awful and I couldn't see too well in the dark. Then I decided to ride home at 3AM, on empty streets.

I want to have the same cinematic look when I make an occasional video. But it's pretty hard to get stabilized footage unless you use a gimbal, which is impractical to carry while riding.

There used to be wearable gimbals that you could attach to a chest mount but those aren't sold anymore.
