There’s an essay to be written about how maga patriotism is just shitty fandom. Anyone who follows sports knows fans like this, it’s always the ref’s fault, the other team doesn’t exist, there’s some plot/player/coach holding the team back otherwise they’d always win easy bsky.app/profile/atru...

this piece of shit wants you to think that every problem in your life is due to immigrants when in fact your life is much easier because immigrants choose to come here

Coincidentally, today in my classes we’re discussing how dispatching regular army troops to an American city would lead to revolution.

"We are asking the Department of War to deploy to our cities" should be a statement that ends any Governor's political career.

Troops. In an American city. Using full force.
Your now-regular reminder that Republican members of Congress are letting this happen.

Trump is absolutely cratering in new Quinnipiac poll:
Overall approval: 38-54
Approval on economy: 39-56
Approval on trade: 39-54
On National Guard into cities: 42-55
On immigration, his "best" issue: 41-55
Trump is weak, unpopular, and failing. Treat him that way:

Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel
Trump’s most brazen attack on free speech yet.
After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

Harpers Ferry historic site may remove slavery exhibits after Trump admin order
The Trump administration has ordered the removal or cover up of exhibits about slavery at Harpers Ferry, a national historic site in West Virginia.
Imagine learning that Concentration Camps in Germany were ordered to remove signs and other exhibits documenting the suffering and hardships of Jewish prisoners. That's what we are talking about when it comes to the tory of slavery at Harpers Ferry. #NationalParks www.wlbt.com/video/2025/0...

The right ignored the murder of the Minnesota House Speaker by a guy who had a hit list of Democrats he was targeting to flip control of the chamber to Republicans.
Asked about that assassination today, the president said he didn't know who she was and a Fox host said he didn't care she was killed.

As much as increasing $ for HBCUs is a welcome development, when you combine it with MAGA's broader effort to undercut diversity at all other universities, you get Jim Crow 2.0.

In all seriousness, I'd love to see a reporter try to get comments from all of these people about their initial impulse to declare a literal war on half of their fellow citizens and to see if any of them regret it, apologized for it or learned anything at all from it.

‘Radicalized’ Evergreen High School shooter appeared to hold antisemitic, violent views in online accounts
Social media accounts that appear to be connected to the 16-year-old shooter are littered with references to mass shootings and antisemitic views, The Denver Post found.
An antisemite shot two kids in Colorado, at least one of whom is Jewish.
The White House “fighting antisemitism” doesn’t care, because the shooter was a student radicalized online into far right beliefs, which the regime is cool with, rather than a student verbally criticizing Israeli govt policy.

I’d think what you’d want during a highly volatile, politically polarized time marked by violence is a president who can appeal to our common values and humanity and inspire calm and unity, rather than promising revenge.
If you cared about the collective well-being of the country, that is

Shreveport, LA, the largest city in Speaker Mike Johnson's district, has a murder rate more than twice Chicago's, and a crime rate considerably higher than both the state and national average. And Johnson isn't calling for the military to invade it. One of many ways we know this isn't about crime.

Department of State v
@StateDept
X.com
Our nation was founded on the recognition that moral virtue and a steadfast faith in God are necessary preconditions of freedom. Yet under the Biden Administration, U.S. foreign policy belittled Christianity and weaponized government against faith.
That era has ended.
Under @POTUS's leadership, the State Department will eradicate practices that devalue and demean the Christian faith. foxnews.com/politics/doj-t..

National Guard troops deployed in D.C. add sanitation, landscaping duties
Service members say they’re glad to help the National Park Service. But some question if trash removal and groundskeeping are an appropriate use of the military.
So let me get this straight. Trump fired close to 25% of the National Park Service's workforce, whose job it is to maintain DC's public landscape. And in their place we are using the National Guard, who have been yanked away from their own jobs and careers. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
