Dragonite honestly. If it kept aspects of Dragonair it would be absolutely top tier. I’m still fond of it overall as a Pokemon, though it’s probably the weakest pseudo design in my eyes.

Unovas level scaling ended up really hurting its Pokémon in the long run like what do you mean rufflet evolves at level 54 and in future games like sun you find it at level 12.

I’ve said this before but I REALLY wanna see the Mario Wonder team do a remake/successor of this game with this crayon aesthetic in HD. They would pull it off perfectly I think.

Gen 9 had some great ones but it felt like it went in a more babyish route like Johto did, and had like no balance between that and monstrous Pokémon (outside of like Baxcalibur). Gen 8 really brought back those monstrous roots full force with stuff like Grimmsnarl and Coalossal.

I agree In terms of the design aspect, I think gen 8 had the overall highest quality roster of new Pokémon designs with almost none of them missing.

Open world games can be fun, but if you make every franchise an open world as a “next step” you lose some of the identity it had to become another open world adventure.

This has been a trend that is starting to get on my nerves a lot, it reminds me of how 2d games were treated after the rise of 3d.

More linear games can be just as good hell even better.

It got so overwhelming, there’s like 5 events going on at once and then like 2 or 3 different gachas and they require like $150 maximum to get a special skin from those without insane odds.

I was gonna mention it in the replies but you already did, I dislike Sakurai not acknowledging modern Kirby and I think that’s a big fear with air riders as well. The fact all the “main” Kirby cast except Bandana Dee are in is a crime, that’s like having Mario without Luigi. He’s the player two.

Will not forget the time I saw two of them howling in a field. As they left one of them looked back at me before going into the woods.
