The current modern knowledge is that their bodies are inhumanly strong, as they are descended from goddesses, but their Trescs are weaker then their physical form, and so should be hidden away. Some cultures say that’s a cowardly belief and wear theirs proudly 🤔

It grows in the sternum, and is removed surgically as a cultural thing. 👀 Few choose to keep it embedded (for religious reasons). There are a few timeline differences with this practice, so at this stage in history, many have forgotten why they take it out. The old knowledge has been lost to time.

What is shocking, as Shadows are believed to be incorporeal beings, is that one of them was brought to flesh.

Senka is that Shadow, somehow ended mortal by Laelia in a bargain to save her life. He turns flesh, but tough he retains his shadow abilities, he is able to walk freely in the sun.

No one knows exactly where they came from, but many believe they crawled from the depths of Core when the great nation of Selenelion was split in two, forever dividing into Remine and Romalia. The surviving villages bordering the forest now lay abandoned, or struggle to survive.

Typically, the more politically important or financially well off someone is, the more of these white gems they wear in public. This is to hide the original gem on one’s person, which protects individuals from assassination/murder/battle, as shattering a Tresc kills instantly.

In GodSeed, each non-human character is born with a Tresc, or a soul gem, embedded in their body. That gem is removed when they reach puberty. To protect this gem from harm, the people wear white Trescs that take on the color of their soul gem.

It is a dark fantasy and horror comic (with a tiny slice of sci-fi) about a pacifistic warrior and his journey to find the truth about his family. The drawing depicts the morally ambiguous character "Yaoshe Baiqiao" (aka. "Yao") sitting leisurely in a traditional Chinese-style room. He is an influential politician and schemer who appears to be allied with the main protagonist. He is an elegant bishie (pretty boy) who appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties, with long, curly medium purple hair that extends past his shoulders and pink eyes with white pupils. He is wearing an elaborate red and purple outfit that resembles traditional Chinese hanfu and is holding a pipe that is shaped like a serpent's head in his right hand. Yao’s outfit is extremely expensive and is decorated with a good amount of gold and gemstones. His boots and sash are especially elaborate and have large, teardrop-shaped rubies embedded in them.
