Just spoke with my CDC sources. They were in tears.

Budgets cut. RFJK has ordered them not to publicize bird flu symptoms in exposed workers. Not to test them. Not to speak.

They know people are getting sick. And they’re being forced to stay silent.

This is not just a cover-up. It's cruelty.

It’s not “differently abled,” it’s not “special needs,” it’s not “handicapped,” or anything else, it’s disabled. Disabled is not a bad or dirty word. Disabled is accurate and there’s nothing wrong with being disabled.

I’ve read several articles today referring to RFK Jr. or Geier as vaccine “skeptics”. I again beg the media to STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION. They are not skeptics. They are lying, grifting, unqualified frauds who are promoting a conspiracy.

“Conspiracy theorists” would be much more accurate.

Trump’s CDC is cancelling $11 billion in COVID funding allocated to health departments and nonprofits, claiming the grants are no longer necessary because the pandemic is over.

This is wrong. COVID is a continuing threat and millions have Long COVID. We still need to do more to mitigate its harms.

Guidelines about accommodating people with disabilities are being scrubbed from the Justice departments website in an effort to … reduce the cost of groceries.

Once again disabled people are targeted because the government assumes no one will speak up for us.

Everything is tied back to disability. When people are dehumanized, many do what they can to tie it to disability somehow and make it so that they don't get treated with decency. "That person is mentally ill." "They are lazy." "They're stupid." By fighting ableism, you're fighting dehumanization.

The "wait and see" folk with disability benefits are awful.

We don't have the privilege of waiting.
We don't have the privilege of ignoring what's being said.

Even the rhetoric is going to kill people, so yes it matters.

If you're quiet about your disabilities, you get accused of being a fake. If you're outspoken, you get accused of being attention seeking.

Disabled people deserve to be believed and supported without hate. We deserve to be able to thrive.

Tbh you all should have gleened how this country feels about disabled people from the fact that anytime yall are nice to one of us it goes viral.

Chronic illness means learning to live with unimaginable amounts of pain & suffering

It means adapting to being trapped in a body that you don’t understand. That never feels safe

It’s learning that hospitals won’t help you, friends & family will leave you, and your “normal” is forever changed.

One thing I'm fucken sick of hearing is that people on the poverty line "don't want handouts."

Well, the rich take hand outs. Maybe they're rich bc they were offered handouts. Maybe they're rich bc they take them.

This "shame in receiving free money" for the poor but not the rich makes me SO MAD

5 years into the pandemic there is still 0 resources for patients with long COVID. Years long wait lists for services. Doctors don’t know anything about long COVID and will try and tell that you are crazy and deny you care. Number of long COVID clinics in New Brunswick: 0

This is your daily reminder that getting sick does not provide a special benefit. There are many risks associated with getting sick and the risks vary based on many factors.

Disabled people shouldn't have to be perfectly nice or kind when we ask for accommodations and inclusion. We shouldn't HAVE to ask.

Furthermore, we usually ARE being nice when we ask; ableds just take any request that they do the bare minimum for us as if it's a great slight to their honor.
