I arrived too late to an abduction yesterday. Ice vehicles boxed in a food delivery driver on the highway. They took him, and when I came on the scene (with a few other neighbors in cars), his keys were still in it. We found his phone, a debit card, his car title and registration.

A member of the Israeli bobsled team is a reservist in the 188th Armored Brigade, a brigade that carried out the triple-tap attack on journalists at Nasser Hospital.
There is simply no moral argument for allowing war criminals to compete at the Olympics.

just a reminder that the united states is essentially operating a network of torture camps holding individuals in arbitrary detention, without access to appeal and rarely to counsel.

Glyphosate: What Indigenous communities have suspected for years about the dangers of the herbicide
The recent retraction of peer-reviewed research claiming glyphosate is safe confirms what Indigenous communities have said for years.
In 2015, the Intl Agency for Research on Cancer classified glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic to humans.” Of particular concern for Indigenous communities as it is sprayed on the berries, animals, medicines and fish that make up their traditional food systems.

Israel told the UN to stay away from those areas for 9 hours while it kills all plant life. This is a war crime, and Israel is so comfortable committing war crimes that they announce them in advance.

I thought this would be a good piece and then it descended into the snobishest of all snobby conclusions that the problem is that the amoral elite of our world don't have good writing and spelling skills. Bad grammar is not a central problem of our age--I think their victims will agree

The Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza has not stopped. On Saturday, Israeli military airstrikes across Gaza killed at least 32 Palestinians, including six children, in one of its worst assaults during the so-called ceasefire.

We can't lecture the world about shredding the international rules-based order and then pal around with the people who have been shredding it before our very eyes for the last 2 years - not to mention all the decades of occupation and apartheid that preceded this horrific moment.

Snyder: Trump administration using words like ‘terrorist’ and ‘extremist’ is what tyrants do
"In order to build tyranny, you have to open zones where the law doesn't apply... one zone like that is the border. The logic of what they've been doing with ICE is to take the border everywhere."

Be a helper like Alex Pretti. He was an ICU nurse who knew that his work of caring and helping others extended beyond the hospital and clinic walls. And for that, he was executed in broad daylight by federal ICE agents.

With the opening of the Rafah border crossing, we are likely to finally see international reporters in Gaza. Israel prevented foreign journalists from entering the Strip for two years and four months, and the IDF killed more than 200 local reporters during that period.

2/ Like the people of Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta and other cities, Canada is also under attack by Trump. We should not be providing any Canadian products to a government using them against its own people.

Two article screenshots side by side. The first: Vancouver tech firm Hootsuite provides services to US Homeland Security. The second: 'Fantastic news': Ford welcomes ICE plan to order Ontario armoured vehicles.
1/ As the people of Minneapolis rise up against ICE, it's painful and shameful that Canadian companies are selling armoured vehicles to Trump's masked militia and providing tech support to the dept of Homeland Security.
