Plus, I assume, saves time at the front end in terms of 'cashing up'. It's been a good while for me but back when I was in the service industry a big chunk of time involved actual counting (especially checking weekly bankings). Presumably more straightforward if mostly card payments.

A map showing South West England and Wales, labelled "Graph of British Rivers". Two river courses are shown, labelled 'Wye axis' and 'Exe axis'.

Does anyone read these descriptions, or am I wasting my time?

Standards are slipping, in that there is a golden opportunity to have made a 'here's one we made earlier' gag in any of a) this tweet b) the headline c) the standfirst d) the intro all of them cruelly passed up.

Porous barriers between β€˜high art’ and β€˜popular culture’, state support, and uncertain environment. A few words for @uk.theconversation.com on recent govt arts funding announcement, Jennie Lee’s 60 year old culture white paper, and the distance still to travel.

If you like Smith, there's a good chance you will Mann as well. Differences aside, they have a fair amount in common. Songwriting and performances aside, they both have *really* good arrangements.

One on my favourite examples remains the drawings made by Onfim, a little 6 or 7 year old boy living in Medieval Novgorod. They could have been done today.

And we think he know his name because he wrote it next to a knight on a horse (the hero) stabbing another knight with a lance on the ground
