Wishing you health and happiness as we approach the winter solstice ๐
A time to acknowedge the beauty of both dark and light.
A season of reflection, as the days slowly begin to lengthen, bringing renewal, hope and new beginnings. ๐ฑ

The Cairngorm plateau is one of the most extreme and brutal environments for any plant to survive in Britain. Yet this sub-arctic habitat is full of plants thriving in these conditions. Pictured here are Trailing Azalea with reddish, winter leaves, Fir Clubmoss and Woolly Hair-moss

โA remarkable discoveryโ: Rare fern found in Welsh valley 150 years after being wiped out by Victorians | Countryfile.com
The young holly fern was rediscovered by a naturalist on the rugged slopes of Cwm Idwal in Eryri National Park.
An article about my recent find of Holly fern in Cwm Idwal. The most recent nearby record was from Glyder Fawr in 1876 www.countryfile.com/wildlife/tre... @cofnod.org.uk @plantlifeuk.bsky.social @northwaleswt.bsky.social @bsbicymru.bsky.social @georgemonbiot.bsky.social @chrisgpackham.bsky.social
