It was great. The two women professors were particularly good (one used to be an Oxford don, so I’m not surprised she exuded intelligence!).
I think they recorded it, so I might go back to it in future if I need studying inspiration. 🤓

I’ve just finished watching a uni debate about history and how/if the past determines the future, from the perspective of various disciplines, and it was so good I now feel like my brain is firing on all cylinders! 🧠 🔥

I’ve just finished reading Jane Eyre for the first time (for uni) and I loved it. Currently reading Can We Skip To The Good Part by Melissa Brayden.

To ‘ultra-crepidate’ (19th century) is to lecture others on subjects you know very little about.

Had a pleasant walk home from the shops listening to the end of Jane Eyre (excellently narrated by Thandiwe Newton) and absolutely cackled at this line: “As she grew up, a sound English education corrected in a great measure her French defects”! 😆

My step-Dad would not allow music in the car. He made us listen to Radio 4.

I’ve just finished reading Incendiant by Virginia Black, which I really liked (I’m currently listening to Virginia Black talk about it!).

Of ALL the times that Oxford chooses not to be fuddy-duddy about something, and it's this dumb.

I love that book, but I’m guessing it’s more gentle with lower stakes than your usual fare (😉), and no book is for everyone. There’s one scene in particular that I still snort-laugh about when I think of it.

I heard some drums out the window a while ago and didn’t know what it was, but was pessimistically expecting it might be random racists. Headed into town to go to the library (and wondering if I might have to have a go at some fascists) only to find it’s a Pride event. A PRIDE event in my town! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️❤️
