Three ducks on the water. Two are black and white with green heads and white cheek patches, one is grey with brown head. All have golden eyes. The male in front is displaying with head pointing straight up.
Now the second drake is doing his display, with quack and foot kick and splash.

A Robin perches on a thin branch, its bright orange breast puffed out. Its head is tilted to the side, giving an unblinking, questioning stare, its small, sharp beak is pointed in your direction as if about to demand an explanation. The judgement is palpable. This bird knows you havenβt submitted your results yet, and it is not impressed.
This Robin wants to know why you haven't submitted your #BigGardenBirdwatch results yet?
Better hop to it! He's watching... π

A black-and-white Avocet stands motionless in shallow wetland water, facing the camera with an unimpressed expression, as if waiting for an explanation. Its long blue-grey legs are partly submerged and its thin, upturned bill curves slightly to one side. Gentle ripples surround the bird, with soft, blurred wetland tones in the background.
Respect Wetlands. Or explain it to this Avocet.

A Grey Heron stands perfectly still, its long neck stretched tall and beak pointed forward, eyes wide and unblinking. Its sleek grey feathers and sharp stare give off an air of quiet determination...or perhaps silent desperation? With an expression that screams, "If I donβt move, maybe no one will ask me to do anything," it perfectly captures that classic Monday mood.
Monday mood: This Heron standing very still, hoping no one asks it to do anything today.

A cluster of delicate Snowdrops rise up, their pure white petals just beginning to unfurl. Against the blurred backdrop of a woodland floor, they push through the leaf litter, a quiet but determined sign that winterβs grip is loosening. The soft sunlight catches their slender green stems, a gentle hint that change is on the horizon.
Snowdrops pushing through, woodpeckers drumming, and the light stretching a little longer each day.

A luminous full moon hangs in a dark, cloudy night sky. Wisps of mist swirl around it, creating an eerie yet mesmerising effect. The Moonβs cratered surface is sharply defined, glowing bright against the deep shadows of the sky. A still and atmospheric moment, capturing the quiet beauty of the February Snow Moon.
Tonight, the Snow Moon rises.π
Named for Februaryβs deep snows, this full moon was also called the Storm Moon or Ice Moon in Old English, reflecting winterβs grip.

A Robin balances effortlessly on the waterβs surface, one foot just barely touching a small ripple. Its wings are slightly spread, displaying soft brown and orange feathers, while its reflection shimmers in the rippling water below. The moment is full of grace, capturing the lightness of the bird in an almost dance-like motion.

What a win for nature!
Scotland is the first UK country to have Swift bricks in law β a lifeline for this threatened bird. And, for the first time ever, the Scottish Government must set legally binding nature recovery targets.

A Jackdaw peeks out from a perfectly round hole in the weathered trunk of an old tree. Its sleek black feathers contrast with the rough, textured bark, and its pale eyes glint in the sunlight. The hollow frames the bird snugly... a cosy nook that looks preferable to any working Monday!
Monday? No, thank you.
I shall politely decline and stay in this nice tree instead.
