How many, are the pleas for peace; and how few, are the tyrants they’ve swayed?

I suspect those, who heed such reasoning; are not the ones, who launch unjust wars.

Each era, tends the orchard of mercy; we beg the next one, to grow kinder.

Winter hydrangeas, dry and red-brown on their stalks, against the back fence in my garden. There is a triangle of slanted sunlight at the top of the fence, and a blue criss-crossed shadow behind the hydrangeas, from the adjacent fence's lattice.

One reason I write poetry is to heal. I wrote this one after an emotionally traumatic episode that opened my eyes to a path of healing. β™₯οΈβ€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

Yesterday is like a refllection April 20 . yesterday A willow coming out fairly, with honey-bees humming on it, in a warm nook. And now different kinds of bees and flies ...

Yesterday is like
a reflection in water.
Inverted, ideal.

Each pulse the proof
I’m not alone.

Inside I taste

Life breathing life

It's often in the feeding of people & animals, in rural outposts, or observing nature anywhere, the winds of change are felt first. Comments like 'this is one of the most important articles I've read on here recently' could apply to any of @environment.theguardian.com Country Diaries, most days.
