The giants stare each other down. We watch from their toes, one misplaced foot and we are gone. But we don't act like we're subject to the whim of their #caprice. We shout at them, and each other, sure this giant will be the first to listen. We must sound as loud as butterflies in the wind.

Fixing my bike,
hands full of grease,
rode out to the rhythm
of dawn’s #caprice.

Driving through sunrise,
paradise glows,
splendour reveals itself
as the morning grows.

Scenery blooms,
no longer bound
life spins forward,
good vibes all around.

Yet Do I Marvel I doubt not God is good, well-meaning, kind,

So will our doom be petty cares
or merely brute #caprice?
To push up never-ending stairs
and blindly pass by peace?
There’s much to marvel at in life,
but minds are far too strewn
with fickle fruit and buried strife
to mirror a poet’s tune.

It was easier to call it caprice than admit his memory was fading, but he still stopped to pet every passing dog and smiled when she brushed her hair. In these moments, he was still with her.

Paul wished her a good morning but heard no response. She’d left him unplugged again; his #power supply was low. He called out a second time, vibrated, flashed a light. Nothing. After a third try he was supposed to call for help, but he wasn’t sure he had enough battery for both. #vss365

In dribs and drabs
did we grow outside
our meagre halls of power
in a small New Zealand town
our signs homemade
as we listened to the final speaker say

that mere miles away
from the carnage
they were marching
half a million strong

and we few took hope
as we left in the rain
