I was reading the paper to my daughter last night and when I came to the orbit variability, I laughed.
It's *almost* an earth-like period... with a 200 day variability.
I wonder if the science writers just don't understand the symbols. I guess it's less sexy.

The best thing I ever did for flying was noise cancelling headphones. They reduce stress for me by removing so much of the ambient noise. Engine? What engine? Baby crying? What baby? Huge.

Instead of charging for checked luggage, airlines need to start charging for carry-on bags. People have become ludicrous with their wheeled luggage, slowing down ingress and egress. Crazy.

I got to meet Dick Scobee and Mike Smith not long before their last flight. They were doing something in Seattle and came down to our tiny high school in Fife, WA because Dick was cousins with the mom of a classmate. I'll never forget the handshakes, the brief conversations, and off they went.

I loved that one. Story & art were great.

While I've long since stopped being excited by my own name in the credits (23 years doing this), it is pretty fun to see how excited my kids or non-industry friends get when they see my name on the big screen. For me, the fun is in the making, which is still pretty cool.
