Pretty much the same here, add in that the dog poo bins donβt get emptied, and the bags are now floating around π€¬

Moths, occasionally birds. Still a grumpy dad, still hoping to mellow with age

09.02.2026 23:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A truly epic Pug congratulations! Not jealous in the slightest π
09.02.2026 23:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve had enough of the rain now! Itβs good that the reservoir water levels are high but both me and the dog hate getting wet on walkies π
09.02.2026 17:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good luck Ruth, sounds promising if itβs dry, providing youβve got some temperature to go with it
09.02.2026 17:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good luck itβs wazzing down here (again)
09.02.2026 17:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What and miss all those spring moths! Heretic, take yourself outside and give yourself a stern talking to π«£π€£
09.02.2026 15:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Snow, ffs will this dire weather never end? ππ€¬
09.02.2026 15:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not good, weβre still not out of the grips of that damn Irish man
09.02.2026 13:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0More worrying is he is getting moths and you ainβt! Does that mean the mini ice age in the bottom has passed? π€·π»ββοΈ
09.02.2026 10:07 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think you should lay the blame for that squarely at the door of @dominiccollins.bsky.social
You wouldnβt have tried if he hadnβt of led you astray
Thatβs a good way to kick off the year! A nicely marked one as well, though they are incredibly variable in their markings.
09.02.2026 08:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 024/5 last night in SE Hants. Colder but less wet than forecast conditions probably cut moth numbers, as did heavy showers late afternoon/early evening. Nothing new but 6 Dotted Border was a garden record and double the previous best, for what is an uncommon moth for me #teammoth
09.02.2026 08:29 β π 45 π 2 π¬ 3 π 0Uncommon and nothing recently in my 10km square.
08.02.2026 23:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Brilliant trapping Hannah, a Small Brindled would be a NFG for me!
08.02.2026 19:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Bravo Dom ππ»
08.02.2026 17:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Moth parkour! Could be a new branch to the hobby π«£
08.02.2026 13:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It certainly has that vibe about it. I donβt suppose you have any better photos?
08.02.2026 11:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They can be a bit of a bugger
08.02.2026 10:07 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is still in the Wogan part of the year, but Iβm not feeling overly optimistic about the coming trapping seasonβΉοΈ
08.02.2026 09:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There you go, a perfect summary of my botany abilities. Itβs probably a fly, I think Iβve been down this avenue before. Or not. Iβm still one caffeine drink short of operational functioning π΄
08.02.2026 09:44 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A micro? Are you feeling alright? Is this the year that you turn? Itβs a very nice moth if you look at it closely ππ»
08.02.2026 09:42 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Worth it then. Mobilise is a good word, very underused. I think Iβm going to mobilise myself to get out of bed and be useful. I havenβt decided how but Iβm mobilised nevertheless π€
08.02.2026 09:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβd agree on that one. Not exactly common down here but listed as spreading
08.02.2026 09:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I canβt even identify the tree π
08.02.2026 09:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs been a slow yearβ¦β¦
08.02.2026 09:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs a start, ease your way back in thereβs no rush, though Iβm not sure youβve ever come across as the rushing type π
Well thereβs not much point anyway in these times of biblical rain.
Sometimes I find the second good night in a row is the best one. But donβt hold me to that π€ͺ
07.02.2026 22:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Same here!
07.02.2026 19:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nice first year and yes to start trapping with the caveat that your trap needs to be rainproof π
07.02.2026 16:29 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In my defence they were mostly alternella
