13.02.2026 23:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0And again the media concentrate on the offensive nature of his words, rather than just calling him out on spreading outright lies ... he was wrong and he should be called out on that and be forced to admit it
12.02.2026 21:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great news - just ordered mine :)
12.02.2026 15:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hi James - they apparently had technical difficulties last year which prevented it but they are preparing an update right now. I've been sending them copies for testing/import so I'm hoping it happens fairly soon. It's not under my control though and we all depend on them to do the imports :)
09.02.2026 17:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Very nice - I'll add that now to the UKSI :)
09.02.2026 10:43 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Honestly, fountain pen collectors are usually some of the nicest people you could meet. That rules out JDV completely.
22.01.2026 21:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, just too wet and windy for much to be on the wing recently
22.01.2026 09:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just spotted a Winrer moth on the window down here in west Dorset :)
12.01.2026 20:27 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Nobody ever bought a PC because they needed Clip-it ... AI is a good tool but the IT companies are so far up their own hype that they're embarrassing themselves. It's almost like they are desperate to justify the $billions they spent on it to their shareholders.
07.01.2026 11:43 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Trump just hears "oil" but doesn't understand that Venezuelan oil takes a lot more refining to get petrol and in fact is better suited to bitumen production.
07.01.2026 11:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This effect would be a lot harder to detect, I suspect, if we had a predominance of good pollinator friendly habitats in the countryside, rather than the terrible impoverishment we are suffering from. The core problem is habitats but in light of that we need to prevent further damage by honeybees.
07.01.2026 10:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I always equate honeybee promotion as like suggesting the release of chickens and pheasants into the countryside "to help the birds". It's possibly a little rhetorical and unfair but the financial and agricultural power of the beekeeping lobby has hijacked the campaign to protect pollinators.
07.01.2026 10:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When that trackle-down starts to happen we'll all be quids in π€£π but yeah this can't go on
06.01.2026 17:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is what I hate about Starmer - he behaves like he needs to consult a "focus group" or canvas Red Wall voters before he says or does anything these days. Good that he is sticking up for Denmark but hardly a statement that's going to carry any ramifications.
05.01.2026 13:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's utterly tragic that we still allow companies to build houses to standards that are decades out of date, when we know exactly how to build efficient modern homes.
03.01.2026 19:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think, sadly, there will be plenty of US judges willing to try this case ... the case of Manuel Noriega set the precedent and this will probably go the same way. I just think it sends terrible signals to Russia, China any any other state with ambitions to invade other countries
03.01.2026 19:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That must be pure bliss ... around here general waste went to every 3 weeks and recycling every 2 ... the neighbours have all had to promise each other we'll put each others bin out if we see they've forgotten!
03.01.2026 18:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very nice :) I've never seen snow-fleas but I have to admit to never having lookd all that hard. I guessed they were a mainly northern thing?
02.01.2026 17:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Hi Esmond - good to see you here - yes I'm always super-careful when on the beach there and I remind people that you will never hear the rock that kills you - they are silent in the air! I've always been told it's "Bem-inster" by my parents who live there.
01.01.2026 10:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just back from a lovely Xmas to see my parents in Beaminster. We also visited Charmouth 3 times to look for fossils :)
30.12.2025 08:51 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, definitely Panzeria puparum - nice find - they are known from that part of the world but they seem to be doing well :)
