Fundamental rights, at risk
why, as adults, canβt we annul our adoptions?
why are we not free to reclaim our original identities, but instead must forever remain tethered to a legal contrivance made with no possibility of our consent?
"Person impeached for insurrection sends billions to Argentina during US gov't shutdown" and "Felon convicted of fraud pardons felon convicted of fraud" and "Long-time Epstein associate posts video depicting himself as a king dumping diarrhea on Americans from a fighter jet" are factual statements

A little good news:
"Beginning this month, the Adoption Assistance Program (AAP) β a state and federally funded benefit for parents who adopt from foster care β will no longer pay for most out-of-state residential care. The children will soon be headed back to California." +
When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

Health care is a human right.
The thing about the Epstein disgustingness that strikes me hardest is that hundreds of rich old men raped underage girls and the only person currently in jail for that vile behavior is a woman.

Access to food and healthcare are also fundamental needs for all children.
As pediatricians, we are appalled at policies that restrict these basic needs for children in immigrant families. The chilling effect will be devastating.
Am I dreaming? PBS NewsHour had a report on the adoption industry and how it exploits vulnerable women.
Though it stops short of calling for abolition, it does a good job of bringing into view stories like those in the book "Relinquished."
