exact same. i've experienced even more of the dreaded "liberal drift" since PhD graduation: from interacting w colleagues whose integrity & values i respect, & from walking out the mission of equipping informed citizens. & yes, there's a lot less cognitive dissonance between "liberal" me and Jesus.

yup. i've been in higher ed since the 1990s. there are few conservative professors (and virtually no maga ones) because we're in the business of a) intellectual seriousness and b) empathy.
