I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

Establishing the President's Make America Healthy Again Commission By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: Section 1.

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”.

This is a manifesto against disability.

This is the language of eugenics.

Mentally, I have all the motivation in the world to blog and complete my website, physically I have no energy to do so.

I'd love to know how others balance putting their all into work with being able to function in their personal lives.

What does it take to do things well? The right people, leadership, care, culture, tools, support, resources. A failing in one or more (often more) results in poor user experiences, technical debt, excuses, and waste of time and money.

Pisses me off when I see it happening when it doesn’t have to.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

It doesn't feel real. Vicky was such a powerhouse and inspiration to myself and so many others. She always took time to teach others. I'll miss you Vicky, thanks for everything ❤️
