Man, Dread got so many things right. It's slimy and gross, weird and alien, the story was small, meaningful and tight. No federation.

Also the federation was portrayed as shady, backstabbing power hungry assholes in Fusion, I hate that they are now always portrayed like propaganda movie versions of the marines.

You know what were better a better approach for Metroid npc's? The weird monkeys an the ostrich from Super Metroid. Samus should be encountering weird freaks or aliens who don't communicate like humans and all kinds of sci-fi nonsense. Nobody cares about the federation.

At the end Myles will grow to show some bravery and the girl will like him for it. That one guy saying how much he misses his family will die for emotional impact and the woman will mostly be Samus' sister girl boss.

Okay, knowing that there's a whole group of these assholes, makes Myles' presence more tolerable. The whole thing reads to me like "Bare minimum cinematic story" and was wholly unnecessary, but I'm not entirely against the idea of Metroid Prime npc's.

I would honestly be completely fine with Nintendo delaying Prime 4 by a year just to scrub Myles from the game and making sure things still work.

The new Metroid Prime 4 will welcome a tiny yellow alien named Myles that only Samus can see.

If it turns out that Miles will be coming along for the ride, I think I'll pass. I'll just play the excellent Dread again.

Thankfully in that gameplay video, that loathsome fuck is left behind at the end, and none of the gameplay trailers have showcased him much, so I'm hoping he won't be featured a lot.

A comedic sidekick can be endearing when looked at from outside, and you see some sort of dynamic happening between characters. If you have an annoying, bumbling character annoy YOU without you being able to affect the relationship, you just get annoyed. It's not rocket science.

Seriously though. Having bumbling side kick in Metroid would be a bad idea to begin with. BUT even having a comic relief sidekick works if they can play off from a contrasting character, which Samus is not, because she isn't really a character but a player insert with a backstory.

Nintendo once failed disastrously an attempt at having players feel Samus' womanhood in Other M by having her be unable to function without a man. Now they're trying it again by having her be constantly pestered by an obnoxious nerd.

Unless it's like sonic.exe, that shit is goofy as hell.

I find it interesting that a ghost in a video game is a scary concept in a video game, but a really goofy concept in a movie. I wouldn't be able to take it seriously in a movie, but in a game I might for a brief second worry that the ghost is real.

It just seems to me that it'd be more lucrative purchase for what I assume is the intended audience if it was a more expensive and powerful machine. Kid's will still want Switch 2 for Christmas instead of an almost obsolete at launch gaming PC.

I'm not exactly sure who it's for, since it seems like it's a less than PS5 pro machine, maybe even base PS5? Like I can plug my girlfriend's laptop on the tv and put big picture mode on and there's a console pc right there. More powerful than this too.

I watched a tech review of the machine and seems like it's a much weaker, spec wise, than I thought and it could be 700 + vat machine. I don't think it's going to go down to console prices, I don't think they have incentive to sell it at a loss.

The controller looks like something you'd encounter in Majora's Mask. Did they do this on purpose?

These are niche products, and knowing Valve, probably good ones (except for maybe the Steam Controller), just don't get disappointed if these things don't revolutionize the gaming market.

If they were planning to do that, there would've been signs of it sooner. Plus it's clearly not even designed with brand recognition in mind, it's just a featureless black cube that looks like a pc. It's probably going to have more value compared to a 1200 PC, though.

If they were planning to challenge the console market, they'd have monumental task ahead of them, that would require a whole infrastructure of department managing planning, manufacturing, PR and all that stuff. They'd be in every magazine, every billboard, every channel.

I hope I'm not a downer, but I don't think you're getting Steam Machine for any less than 900 + vat. I think it's going to be a success in the same way Steam Deck was, in that it sells 2-4 million units to the enthusiast crowd.

The way Valve has stated that the new Steam Machine is going to be afrordable compared to a pc of the same performance level, says to me that this thing is probably not going to end up in as many living rooms as some people seem to hope.

Anyone notice that the cockroaches in Silent Hill make the same sound as the waterbugs in Silk Song?
