a convoy of ships losing their sanity as they spiral into jupiter is a good brush with the vast scale of space overawing the little humans

i will say the short jupiter interlude is genuinely cool. a brief window into how space is antagonistic to human life, something we seldom see in a show where newtypes as the human adaptation to space is allegedly important to the plot

part of that is how machu's character loses coherence once she goes to earth. her animating motivation gone, she is propelled by the necessity of getting to some kind of endgame from then on

nyaan will remain the highlight to me. bouncing across space, history's saddest pinball, destruction in her wake

hard to get too upset about gqx. it was the beast that it was. the spectacle was nice and now i gotta find something else to look at

shuji never stops being a thin plot idea that never got developed, they really shoulda kicked him to the curb. machu you developed a brief crush with a whisp of a critter in a tanktop, it's no shame girl it happens

i don't think gqx left much of an impression on me, it kind of washed over like an upswell in the surf and now it's gone. it had its moments, but once it left side 6 it kinda became this other thing
