Not so sure about the guessing. I definitely needed my phone’s Chinese dictionary app to figure out the 阴阳师 in your bio. Thing is, apps are so amazing compared to looking something up in an old dictionary based on radicals.

Duolingo uses simplified. But my wife is originally from Hong Kong so many years ago I had originally started with traditional and Cantonese. Didn’t really make much progress with that though. So for now, concentrating on simplified and 中文.

I see that I replied to the original post at the wrong level and side tracked your story. My mistake…perhaps latent damage from that strike. Nevertheless I suppose I’ll leave it here since you liked it.

The next thing I knew I had been knocked to the ground and was looking up to see that was the case for everyone. No one was hurt. The other boys quickly disappeared never collecting the promised Cokes.

We needed help lifting the cross bars so my dad enlisted a few teenaged kids that were nearby with the promise of Cokes after we were done. Shortly after the goals were complete and everyone was walking back to my dad’s drink cooler, a lightning bolt struck the field.

This is how I remember it. A summer Saturday or Sunday in the early 1970s. My older brother and I were with my dad installing soccer goals on a field at our elementary school in Florida.
