Whether that matters is the next obvious question as you could argue the outcome is the same/similar: explaining science to a lay audience.
I'd be curious as to how the creator perceives themselves.

There's nuance here, and without knowing anything about the behind the scenes as to how Angela makes these videos, I would probably call this science communication rather than science journalism.
29.05.2025 03:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0COVID in Australia remains a major challenge. Key is that the toll in 2024 is similar to that in 2023. We have plateaued, & have done so at a high-level. We can do more, especially to acknowledge the scale of the challenge & improve vaccination & ventilation strategies.

Brilliant working with Aimee Hourigan and @zthetrain.bsky.social on this article about adults' everyday experiences with online #misinformation.

While much of the public attention on PFAS β or forever chemicals β has been on their detection in drinking water supplies, sources of PFAS are more ubiquitous than many people realise, as Victoria University's Stephen Gray & Jianhua Zhang explain.

One of the things I really like about working for 360info is that we take the time to find the right expertise to explain what's really going on & provide the important context that helps you understand the issues.
My latest two commissions are great examples of that.
You can msg me on here or better yet send me an email suzannah [dot] lyons [at] 360info [dot] org
To write for 360info you must have a current university affiliation β PhD student or above.
I'm back in the commissioning chair for 360info.org, which means I want to know what stories you think we should be publishing! My focus is on science & health but also open to cracking ideas outside that remit.

Iβm going to take a slightly longer break over the New Year while I have a think about what Iβd like to do next, but as always feel free to reach out for a chat if youβve got an opportunity you think I might be a good fit for.

Not a bad return on 20 monthsβ work.
Iβm really proud of the stories I got to be a part of during my time there.
My thanks to the authors of the 98 (soon to be 99) stories I commissioned & published.
Getting to delve once more into the breadth of science, technology, environment, health & other topics was a real privilege.
Last Wednesday was my last day working for research newswire 360info at Monash University.
Itβs sad to leave behind one of the nicest, smartest & most collaborative teams Iβve had the pleasure of being a part of but I look forward to seeing what they all do next & how 360info grows from here.
Woman speaking in front of a giant screen. On the screen is a slide with the title "Scientific process is BORING. Discoveries are FASCINATING.".
Fantastic to present my research at #JERAA2024 last week: looking at what journalists can do when the public doesn't trust science.
Really appreciated all the great questions, and enthusiasm and support for people like me at the start of our research careers.
