Also - one thing to note about playing this on Steam. Make sure your audio is set to 48khz output. I was using a DAC at 192khz and it sure does not like that. So if you get garbled sound, that's why.

The first version of Earthion is out. This is one of those games that, if you have any interest in 2D shooters or the Mega Drive, you just buy it. It is an absolute masterpiece. This is among the best 16-bit shooters I've ever played at this point. Seeing 'of the era' devs returning to OG hardware=🔥

DOOM co-creator John Romero’s entire Romero Games studio has been let go following Microsoft layoffs as Xbox cuts funding for new FPS Microsoft layoffs have resulted in cut funding for independant studio Romero Games as the studio lays off its entire workforce.

Honestly, for me, this feels like the final straw. I get it - Microsoft is there to make money blah blah, but this truly feels like Xbox is over. The Switch 2 already took the spot of the Series X in my setup. I've been using more Linux and MacOS too.

Yes, it’s a HAVBERG chair and ottoman.

And here’s a view of the whole room! I got a new reclining chair and ottoman. The chair can rotate towards either the current gen consoles set up or towards the retro consoles.

For my work desk, I’ve got a Mac Mini M4 Pro and an LG 42” C2 for a monitor. Above it is a vanity shelf with Tomba and other games created by Tokuro Fujiwara.

And here is my retro game setup! I’ve got a Sony PVM and most major post-Famicom consoles on tap. The alcove shelf is built into the room (due to the presence of a pillar), so I used it to display the consoles.

With the help of @dark1x.bsky.social , I finally revamped my console game setup. Got a 55” G4 LG OLED, along with DIY shelves for current gen consoles and a sound bar below, while my complete Biohazard collection sits above. Quite happy with this!

Slept from 8pm to 5am. Glorious.

If you haven’t played RE5 yet but want to do so, I highly recommend the Switch version on Switch 2. Silky smooth 60FPS, and excellent gyro controls as a result.

FWIW, five out of the last five Resident Evil games were announced at a Sony event, with four of them happening in the month of June (the exception being RE:3, which was revealed in December).
