Agreed. Thinking about ice path in Johto (Gold/Silver) with the stone blocks 😅. OoT also has something similar in Ice Cavern.

And I know that somehow this gave rise to ice mechanics in videogames, of which I'm not a fan. Sometimes I don't sleep thinking these things.
