I love G’Nort
Fun Fact: Larry Schexnayder is Hooded Justice and yet, after nearly 40 years, no one “official” has been able to figure it out.
Keep your eyes peeled to the backgrounds. The book itself manipulates and lies to you.
“Can one truly appreciate Watchmen?”
No one “truly” appreciates Watchmen anyway.
People keep commenting on its’ brilliance and yet they have no clue that the book constantly lies to them.
It’s rather frustrating.
“There’s nothing wrong with your world or mine, it’s me!”
Actually Chris, there’s a lot wrong with both worlds, especially the full blown Nazi world.
For more info, read the pinned post on my page.
Or don’t, and continue to gobble up Moore’s lies.
In issue 9, Larry sends Sally a letter where he essentially proposes to her.
The letter is dated 1948.
Now you may think that this is a printing error, but once you realize that Hollis Mason tells a bunch of other mistruths, then you realize the book itself lies to you.
No one knows how to read Watchmen anyway. The book constantly lies to you.
Example: Google “When did Sally Jupiter marry Larry Schexnayder?”
Every source will tell you 1947. Because that’s what Hollis Mason tells the readers of “Under the Hood”, his autobiography.
Yet it’s not 1947…
At this point you’re just lying to yourself.
The characters’ faces are all pretty unique in Watchmen.
Anyway bro, good talk, but work on this glorious Sunday awaits.
I’ll reply more in about 10 hours if you’re still fighting the fact that you’ve gobbled up Moore’s lies for years.
Peace
Though I can admit I’m probably reaching, the resemblance between Old Hollis and his father is uncanny.
And the fact that young Hollis and adult Larry have a weird left eye issue where the left eyeball veers to the left is kinda odd.
Still, though, I think I’m probably reaching there.
Probably.
Of course it’s possible some of my ideas are false.
My favorite “possibility” that probably isn’t true is that Hollis Mason is actually Hollis Mason’s father and his son that we see in the picture of Moe’s Garage is actually Larry Schexnayder himself.
When Hollis writes “Hooded Justice was so big, oh so so big, biggest man ever, just wow, that size, whoa”…
You believe that over your own eyes.
I can’t help you, dude. You believe whatever you need to.
Again, this was Moore’s intention and it is a brilliance that will continue to go unnoticed.
And again, does it matter?
Hollis still lies several other times and yet you refuse to see it.
You can literally see…and I feel I must emphasize the following in all caps…WITH YOUR OWN EYES…that Hooded Justice is literally no bigger than Metropolis or even Hollis himself.
Yet…
…will be ostracized and laughed at.
I believe this was Moore’s ultimate intention.
He wanted to go Meta with this book and IMO, knocked it out of the fucking park.
Again, very disingenuous to start by saying “This is definitely Skull’s son” but still, thanks for starting the convo!
Peace
…has just dropped a giant squid in your lap. He’s calling it one thing but it’s something else entirely.
And you, the world…refuses to believe it.
This helps inform me of the ultimate ending to Watchmen.
Nobody will believe Rorschach’s Journal over Veidt.
And those that do…
I’m sure you’ll roll your eyes at this, but I believe this was Alan Moore’s ultimate intention.
I, and the other three or four Larry truthers out there (I managed to sway some on Reddit)…
We are Rorschach’s Journal. We are begging you, the world, to open your eyes to the fact that Alan Moore…
So, either way, Hollis is still a liar.
In the end, though, does it matter?
You choose to believe Watchmen’s lies over its truth, as does pretty much everyone who’s ever read the book.
Nothing I do or say is going to convince the world otherwise.
But, in a way, this is really fascinating…
Let’s say you’re right.
Let’s say it is the Skull’s son.
While he wasn’t lying about meeting up with the Skull, this still makes it so that Hollis is lying.
The Skull isn’t “reformed” as Hollis claims if Skull is willing to share Hollis’ address with his raging gangster son and his friends.
The other answers in that Reddit thread are probably the answer.
Hollis was very well known, probably one of the most famous people in America, and he was desperate for friendship. He would literally chat up anyone who would listen.
How many “Dad’s” knew where Hollis lived? Probably a lot.
But…
Was this you? (Reddit post)
Regardless, announcing that the Knot Top IS the Skull’s son instead of saying “It’s possible that this Knot Top was the Skull’s son” is definitely a choice.
Now then…
IF the Knot Top is Skull’s son, then that most definitely throws a wrench in my theory.
However…

19.09.2025 17:25 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Thank you for your creation. I know the Giff did the plots, but you did the words.
G’Nort, much like Frodo and Sam, reminds us that even the “little people” make a difference.
But I just wanted you to know that your creations matter.
They go beyond you and take on a life of their own, which is really cool if you think about it.
Something as simple as G’Nort can make a difference.
G’Nort can create bonds.
Ten short months later, we heard the call again.
“Check out issue 153”, Mrs. Eaglesham said.
What was in issue 153?!
G’NORT!!!!
(click the image, look to your right)
Idk why I wanted to tell you this…
But Dale and his wonderful Mrs. had other ideas.
When “The Last Laugh” crossover occurred, Dale’s wife posted in the G’Nort Club and said “Look out for the new issue (143), you’ll love it.”
So…what was in that issue?
G’NORT!!!!
Sure, a lil picture frame cameo.
But to me, it was gold.
When Judd Winick became the new writer, artist Dale Eaglesham also jumped on board. He also jumped on the DC Message boards, along with his wife.
In GL # 138, I had a letter printed that asked for a G’Nort appearance.
The response? “G’Not on your life!”
Go read it. You’ll see.
Club threads started to form. The Hal Club. You had your Kyle Club. John and Guy Clubs formed, even Kilowog had a thread devoted to him.
Back then, I went by the moniker Fox420.
I started the G’Nort Club.

Back in the late 1990’s, when GL fandom was super divided, I posted at the DC Comics Message Boards.
The GL forum was a war zone. Probably the most toxic online forum I’ve ever been in to this day!
You had H.E.A.T and you had the newbie Kyle fans.
They were at war.

Hi!
I am G’Nort’s # 1 fan!
I know that sounds super Kathy Bates, but it’s okay because it’s true!
I wanted to give you a secret history of G’Nort canon that not many folks know.
I can’t wait to celebrate Hawkgirl’s actions on HBO Max!

How come GI Robot wants us to kill Nazis and celebrate killing Nazis, but once someone in real life celebrates a dead Nazi, DC fires them?
