Proton VPN or Mullvad VPN. Neither log user network data so there is nothing to turn over. Also Proton only answers to the Swiss government full stop. Mullvad VPN was raided by Swedish authorities and they came away with nothing but long faces. Can’t raid information that isn’t kept. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Proton VPN or Mullvad VPN. The two best at privacy and security (security meaning they don’t contain viruses). Privacy meaning they don’t log or sell/share your data.

I don’t use Google only on very rare cases. Nonetheless you gotta believe what you want to believe so i wish you luck.

Per Proton β€œAll of our servers are dedicated servers which we configure from scratch on top of the bare metal.” Additionally you say that you can’t prove they aren’t logging but audits say differently unless you have evidence to the contrary”?

So people don’t need to trust their isp to trust a vpn. The vpn tunnel isn’t going to be intruded by them. They can’t even see the queries you generate over a vpn. You can run a dns leak test to check the connection. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

isn’t decrypting that if they could vpn companies would be pointless.

what sites you searched or what sites you visited. They can take an educated guess as to what you might be dtonkine but have nothing concrete. Only the vpn company knows what you are doing if they log. Not to mention if custom dns servers that can run dns over tls or DOH to the vpn tunnel. The ISP..

So it is becoming clear you don’t understand how vpn connections work. When connected to a vpn your queries go through the vpn dns server which generally are encrypted which then goes through the vpn tunnel to the domain destination. The isp can only see you are using a VPN but they cannot see…

Once again you have to trust someone. I can guarantee your isp is selling your data as we speak. So it comes down to who do you trust more?

Proton VPN won't log your data, audit confirms - even for free users The VPN provider's fourth independent audit backs its public approach to data security and user privacy.

No that is just factual. The U.S. doesn’t have data privacy laws nearly as tight as Switzerland so at the end if the day you are trusting someone. Either the vpn company whoever it is or your isp or you aren’t on the internet at all. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

your isp has access to your data they will be selling it and if subpoenaed they are definitely handing it over to authorities no questions asked.

It gets to a point where you have to pick your poison. We could probably poke holes in most vpn providers issues or potential issues. Mullvad is great but they are in Sweden which is a 14 Eyes Alliance country. They are considered one of the safer options. One thing is for sure. In the U.S. if …..

Yeah but they are doing it on the state level here unless you upload and ID which is crazy to do. Missouri, Ohio, Mississippi all having issues with Bluesky and it is only going to get worse. Censorship is alive and thriving unfortunately.

The only thing that concerns me about Switzerland is that bill they were trying to pass allowing authorities to have backdoor access to vpn providers data. Not cool. Proton said if that proposed law passes they are out if Switzerland. NYM VPN said the same that they will leave there too:

Depending on what state or country you live in Bluesky may not work without a vpn due to new state laws etc.

Agreed. Phones have too many ways to track your general location.

protections as data is in Switzerland. To date Proton’s vpn service has never flipped any user information to the Swiss government or any other government (which would be illegal in Switzerland) so that is good for their vpn users.

02.10.2025 12:28 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

One thing to consider with Proton mail. They did have to turn over information on a French activist when the Swiss government subpoenaed them. Reason being from what I researched was email is a communication tool unlike vpn data. Proton did fight it and lost. Email isn’t afforded the same…

Ever try setting YouTube to an Albanian video n server? No ads when you use it on a computer or ipad etc. Cellphone still shows ads because of geo location with cell towers etc.

No problem. Important we all help each other and share information whenever we can in these crazy times.

No you can just update the firmware on it. I didn’t even know that was possible until i looked into it further. I have a bunch of them for my Nvidia Shields and have updated the firmware twice now on them. It won’t erase the data you have on it either.

02.10.2025 06:07 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah Mullvad has an awesome sign up method. They even accept cash which is wild. Their privacy is tried and true. They were raided by the Swedish authorities a few years back and because they don’t log the Swedish authorities came away with no useful information. Can’t beat that.

02.10.2025 06:00 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I wouldn’t age verify uploading anything to any website etc. You gotta thinknwhat if that domain gets hacked? Then the hackers have all of your id information and only God knows where that may go. Just use a vpn. Proton and Windscribe have free tiers you can use.
