Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Took them less than a week to take one of the most visible public repudiations of the GOP in my lifetime and turn it into hog slop.

Understand This Fact: Chuck Schumer is behind this. None of these 8 are up for reelection in 2026. Schumer asked them vote yes—they agreed. He's such a coward that he folded and won't even own it.

In other words:

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

I'd like for someone in the dem caucus to tell us which senators were real no votes and which ones voted no because they were allowed to.

This is why this surrender isn't just about this narrow issue but is rather the whole constitutional ballgame:

Democrats are affirmatively signaling they do not want political power at the same time Trump is transitioning the political system into an autocratic one wherein they're denied it forever

With Cornyn MIA & still not voting, votes can still be changed. An effective leader would be burning up phone lines trying to flip one of the Dems who voted yes to kill this deal.

So, what’s Schumer doing right now?

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.

The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

This is literally where I am.

I can understand the ACA decision, but the core goal of this shutdown was to try and assert some manner of "the executive branch will follow the goddamn law"

We didn't get that, at all.

You also need to support a change in leadership. The suspicion is that some Dem Senators are voting NO to give cover to those voting yes, but behind the scenes are supporting the cave.

Trump is 30 points underwater. Dems swept the special elections. People know the GOP is responsible for the shutdown. So the Dem Senators pulled out their big guns... and shot themselves in the foot.

As I've always said, I will not support a government funding bill that continues to raise our costs, jeopardizes our health care, and hurts the people of my state.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Schumer put the nail in his own coffin and the Democratic Leadership. It's done. Just a matter of time. Ditto Centrists.

They have misread the moment and the rage of the people.

Trump and MAGA will continue playing them because they know they are weak.

Durbin is trash. Yes, lots of great stuff in the past. Sure he’s a decent guy. But he’s pure trash now. Important to see that the bulk of Team Cave is made up of people who are retiring.

This Senate deal is political malpractice. Americans like me will be burdened with health insurance that is not affordable. If the Democrats doing this deal think that it is for voters like me, they are wrong.

What a failure of imagination and leadership.

In March, after Schumer last surrendered, we called an emergency meeting of Indivisible leaders. 92% told us to call on him to step down from leadership (which we did).

In a poll over this weekend, 98.67% said we should keep up the fight.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

The Trump administration just appealed to the Supreme Court for permission to begin starving Americans.

You can't make it up.

This is who they are. EVERY REPUBLICAN ENABLER IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE MUST BE FIRED.

We'll see if the Republican Justices who think the government can force us to have kids will also force the government not to starve kids.
