Today, during the 51st annual Harlem Week celebration, @governor.ny.gov signed legislation to rename the 110 St-Central Park North subway station on the 2/3 lines to 110 St-Malcolm X Plaza!

This honor celebrates both the legacy of activist Malcolm X and the rich history and community of Harlem.

Heads up for 4/5/6 train riders! There are major service changes coming to those lines on the weekends of August 15-18 and August 22-25.

During those weekends, there will be no 4/6 service south of Grand Central-42 St and no 5 service south of E 180 St because of track replacement.

Today, @governor.ny.gov announced that the engineering and design phase of the Interborough Express (IBX) has begun! This is a major step forward for the project, which will connect historically underserved communities in Brooklyn and Queens to the subway, bus, and @mtalirr.bsky.social.

We’re proposing major changes to our ticket policy and fares for next year:

🟩 No more ticket activation. One-way tickets will now auto-activate upon purchase. Both paper and mobile tickets will expire after four hours.

Proposed changes to MTA fares and tolls in 2025

This summer, the MTA Board is considering several changes to fares, tolls, and ticketing policies, all to take effect in 2026.

#DidYouKnow that there are two #NYCsubway stations named after the same street, but with different spellings? Beverley Road on the BMT Brighton Line (today's Q train) is spelled with three e’s and Beverly Road on the IRT Nostrand Avenue Line (today's 2/5 trains) is spelled with two e’s). Why?

Construction is underway at 61st Street-Woodside as part of a broader effort to improve station infrastructure on the 7 line!

These upgrades will extend to other nearby stations between Woodside and Corona, enhancing safety and improving accessibility.

Once this is completed, nearly 70 percent of all subway rides will take place to or from accessible stations!
