I find it comical that when white reporters write about hate, they get all the glory when they are in fact the worst possible people to be writing about hate, racism and what that means in the larger context. But journalism rules were created by white people to benefit white supremacy.

This breaks my heart. I know the feeling having worked in many newsrooms where I experienced the same -- racism and discrimination.

Totally get that. I didn't edit that story, but I know the reporter & I suspect this was an internal language The Guardian uses, which I think is wrong. I wouldn't have taken that approach if I was the editor on this story. This has always been a problem w/ the media because is mostly white folks.
