Debatten gik på om EU-udvidelse kunne ske på meritter og samtidigt bruges som et sikkerhedspolitisk redskab.

Explainer: Hvidbog om fremtiden for Europas forsvar Europa-Kommissionen har udgivet den ventede hvidbog, som skitserer, hvordan Europa kan opbygge et stærkt forsvar inden 2030 gennem øgede investeringer og tættere samarbejde mellem medlemsstaterne.

I dag skal Europa-Parlamentet tage stilling til om European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP) skal vedtages.

EDIP indeholder 1,5 mia. Euro, der skal fremme fælles indkøb, øge kapaciteten og understøtte samarbejdet med Ukraine.

Flere penge, flere problemer: EU-budget til debat Kommissionenen vil øge EU's budget for 2028-34 med flere midler til forsvar, Ukraine samt grøn og digital konkurrencekraft. Men modstanden er massiv, og det danske formandskab kan få en nøglerolle.

I dag drøftede Mette Frederiksen, som repræsentant for Rådet, EU’s 7-årige budget med Ursula Von der Leyen, og Roberta Metsola.

Casper Klynge: “Cyber attacks in 🇪🇺 are increasing rapidly. But lack of trust in 🇺🇸tech and lack of available 🇪🇺 tech makes some 🇪🇺 companies postpone decisions on cyber security and that creates real vulnerabilities accross sectors such as energy. More attention should be paid here.”
