So Trump gives in even more. 🫣
Quite breathtaking story - military grade drones at Dublin airport which flew on the path Zelensky's plane took. The drones reached the flight path of his plane exactly the time it should have been there, but just missed it because Zelensky arrived ahead of schedule:

And the real point is: it doesn’t have to be this way. A stronger stands on Ukraine or China or Gaza are feasible. It’s not pipe dream.

"This is, above all, a matter of psychology, of believing in one’s capabilities, including the capacity to say 'no.'"

A continent without courage.
On Europe’s psychology of weakness and why it doesn’t have to be this way.
My oped in @politico.eu:
Well it of course requires QMV to end the paralysis and delays. Have made this point often in the past.
But I do feel it goes wider. Has to do with psychology across the boards. A sense of fatalism spreading. Which can and must be halted.
Thanks Garvan! Gotta keep pushing the system.

Wherever you look, from ‘track change diplomacy’ on Ukraine to China’s power play on critical minerals, Europe is losing grip and self confidence.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. ↘️
In a way it's straightforward: Empowering Ukraine, Unpowering Russia.
How? Here some concrete ideas:
On how Europe must respond to China’s attempt to go all self-sufficient fortress.
“When the good options are gone, the bad are all that is left. China is making trade impossible. If it will buy nothing from others but commodities and consumer goods, they must prepare to do the same.”
😱

“I have the greatest respect for President Putin.”
The road to - finally - build a stronger Europe able to defend its interests and citizens is long.
But some days we do make progress. Today is one of these days. Agreement now in place on the EDIP. ↘️
Europe’s approach on handling Trumps peace plans for Ukraine is the triumph of hope over experience.
