I'll note that a lot of scifi and cyberpunk writers refer to AI as demonic (both a play on Daemon programs and the other meaning), but your idea of applying Aquinas here is a really helpful way to articulate that limitation.

I taught a class on Cyberpunk and the Body, pairing things like Donna Haraway with JPII, and our ending conclusion is that cyberpunk is so dystopian because of its total commitment to materiality.
