I mean Kylie McDaniels has him 58th, I might have him in like the 60s or 70s if I had a prospect list, the Nationals said no thanks, it's not *everybody*

curves like that are pretty platoon neutral, and if he does get back to the 2024 one with very little sideways movement, that one was great against righties. cutter looks ok too, even if it's just the slider, harder.
22.01.2026 22:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
MacKenzie Gore is pretty good. He's been fiddling with his curve to kill horizontal, make it more Kershaw-like (he has some release similarities). His 4s has always been above-ave. Maybe just settle on this curve shape & just try to command it a little better, because 4s/CU/SL should be enough.

In fantasy auctions, you generally want to avoid buying the last guy in a tier because you'll generally end up overpaying for that player. Cody Bellinger fits that rubric for me. Might like this deal the least of the offseason.

I don't see what's cherry picking here. Things that matter to me, particularly early on in a career: Barrel rate, bat speed, swinging strike rate, how the team plays them, chase rate, swing shape (a bit). I use this rubric w/ every young player until they give enough sample to care about the rest.
16.01.2026 21:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
its still an inexact science, there's a ton of pre-contact information missing (how do they get on plane, early angles). totally could be wrong. My overall argument is that I'm unsure of the power, don't think he'll have defensive value, and the combo of that plus 30% strikeout leaves me cold.
16.01.2026 21:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
he has average bat speed. If he does add back some bat speed, he can comp to someone like Kerry Carpenter, with more Ks. So, yeah, if that hurt his bat speed, that would be interesting.
16.01.2026 20:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
given his bat speed (71.5), tilt (37), and intercept point (27) as they were last year (all relevant in sample he produced), his comps are Brandon Marsh (71.4/38/27.5), Ezequiel Tovar (71.6/36/29), Dillon Dingler (71.7/40/27.8). If he adds BS, they get better -- Kerry Carpenter, Bryan Reynolds.

bat speed doesn't usually go up, but maybe, sure. He's consistently had D and K problems though.
16.01.2026 18:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
sure, but it's kind of boring bat speed for his approach. has the nick Kurtz swing/contact point and is missing like three ticks of bat speed. so I think it'll be a bunch of Ks with not enough power behind it to make it worth while. With DH type D.
16.01.2026 18:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
yeah man I'm in the Bay Area I watched them. doesn't mean I can't be wrong, but I watched.

"This suggests that Tucker could lose as much as 3 mph of bat speed over the next nine years" this part in particular i would push back on, i think that aging curve is much too aggressive. @enosarris.bsky.social
