Kai-Wei Teng has an interesting arsenal. Wide, without a standout pitch.

Only Sweeper has above-ave locations, which fits his command grades.

should be enough by now, but I've seen regression from nearly everyone that had a good year in those stats. you can look at the year-to-year leaderboard at FG and all the guys that improved seem to go right back (red then blue)

these stance metrics are probably the newest ones, some coaches use them, some make recs based on old school truisms I guess. could just be the ones I talked to didn't think it was important. some find their way to box adjustments by feel.

Andrew Vaughn is, with the Brewers:

* further back in box than ever
* closer to the plate than ever
* swinging the bat harder than ever
* showing a shorter swing than ever

FWIW at least. I've asked a bunch of batters about stance metrics, tho, and none thought they were important. Last two = key.

Players who originally signed as Padres β€” a list that includes Trea Turner, James Wood and Max Fried, among others β€” have produced almost 32 WAR in 2025, 3rd-most behind the Dodgers and Astros. But here’s where the Padres are notable: Only 16% of the 2025 production from original Padres has come for the actual Padres, the lowest percentage of any franchise. For reference, the median MLB team is still reaping 47.5% of the benefits from the current big leaguers it signed, and no other team in playoff contention is below the Cubs’ 29.7%.

A high-ranking evaluator once told me that AJ Preller excels at trading prospects he doesn’t like. I think, in reality, he might just dislike all prospects. Good stat here from @zcrizer.bsky.social: bandwagon.substack.com/p/53-how-do-...

Just stuff about his legs (won’t steal), maybe won’t stick at short, and his splits this year are super weird. Really inconsistent and only good at home

I'm okay with trading Leo De Vries, after poking around with contacts some.

...

But I would've done it for a bat.

we've had like 1 or 0 top 100 prospects traded in the last three deadlines including this one depending on your list. Everyone's playing in the 200+ pool.

Seems like a reasonable deal for Eugenio Suarez. Tyler Locklear does some things well but he's a 24-year-old first base prospect. I'd thought that Seattle getting Josh Naylor & Yankees getting Ryan McMahon meant that the Diamondbacks were asking too much. Who knows, maybe the price came down.

Kinda hope for Cubs’ fans sake that Mike Soroka is the lesser of two starters they get. Surprised to see he’s 25th in K-BB, but the stuff is meh to me.

I don't think the NBA is a good comparison. MLB rosters are almost 3x as big, and one star doesn't move the needle the same way.
