[Panel 1] Akko, alone in the frame. Her mind wanders off, the world seems to fade away, as she intently stares at their joining hands. Her eyes reflect a certain subconscious surprise to this turn of events. [Panel 2] An instinctual reaction, not guided by any train of thoughts, leads her to closing in. Her gaze up again, should meet Diana’s, but is still oblivious to her surroundings.

[Panel 3] She keeps leaning in. For what ? She doesn’t know. She doesn’t even notice she’s leaning in. Diana doesn’t move, her words would be lost on Akko, but she doesn't utter a word. Instead, their lips gently open, like they’re readying to share… to share what, exactly ? [Panel 4] Diana’s eyes are completely focused on Akko. She’s also blind to their, so natural and yet intimate, closeness, lost in Akko’s eyes.

[Panel 5] Sudden realization. Her eyes widen, her whole body flinches, snapping out of it.

[Panel 6] Akko regains awareness, staggered as well. They’re close but Diana has moved back a little in surprise. What’s going on ? They both know what’s happening, but is it real ? They’re frozen in shock. Did the other realize too, did they read too much into it ? Can they play dumb after that ? Why would they even back down from *that*, since nothing happened ? So many questions go through their minds at such formidable speed, sharing the tension in the air between them in complete stillness and silence.

[Panel 3] Younger Akko screams because of the sudden coldness in her shirt! Still holding on her chopsticks despite the shock. [Panel 4] Diana and Akko burst out laughing at this silly anecdote.

[Panel 5] Diana gets the basket once again, reaching for something else for them to share. “I think that’s why I like winter so much. It reminds me of those moments with her.” She expresses with a sadder smile. [Panel 6] Offering them to Akko, she continues. “She died in autumn, so I find that season a bit colder than winter.” [Panel 7] She takes out a bag of pastries, the one Akko gifted her before. [Panel 8] Akko’s genuinely upset again.

[Panel 9] With regrets, she apologizes to her, but doesn’t muster the courage to look at her while doing so. “I’m sorry, Diana… I said some mean things about your family last time. I hadn’t realized… I shouldn’t have assumed anything.” [Panel 10] Diana gets closer to her, her hand reaches for hers, she doesn’t hold it against her. “Oh, Akko. How could you have known ?” [Panel 11] Diana’s hand gently lands on Akko’s fist, which she relaxes over her soft touch.

[Panel 3] She opens her eyes, small sparkles of magic transported by the wind in front of her. [Panel 4] Diana is doing the same peaceful meditation as she was doing.

[Panel 5] Akko faintly blushes and smiles watching her in such tranquility. Her lips meet the cup she was holding. [Panel 6] Ready to tackle another dose of nostalgia, and interested in learning more about her friend, she asks her. “Tell me about your mum.” [Panel 7] This interrupts Diana’s reverie, she wasn’t expecting it and turns her head in surprise as she was raising her hand to take another sip. “What’s your favorite memory of her?” [Panel 8] “Hmmmm…” She takes a moment to think about it, looking in the distance as she muses on her childhood.

[Panel 9] She finally decides on a story to tell. “I have many, but… One time, I think it was around Yule,” [Panel 10] “we wanted to camp out but it started snowing so we couldn’t stay outside overnight.” A memory of a young Diana, observing the snow through her window, distressed at the idea of her plans being cancelled. [Panel 11] “That disappointed me, so she turned the living room into a fort; she brought blankets and quilts from all over the mansion and then used magic to hang fairy lights around the room. It looked heavenly and we stayed up until very late while she read to me holiday stories until I fell asleep, as warm as I’d ever been.” A beautiful image of a child, her teddy bear and her mother, in a pillow fort glowing with warmth and little light orbs, under the blankets with, reading stories together. [Panel 12] “The next morning, we went out to play with the snow.” Another memory of Diana and her mother happily building a snowman together. Bernadette playing with the ball of yarn at the end of Diana's small hat.

Just a moment between friends. My take is that Bernadette was a lil silly and would've adored Akko making her laugh.

[Panel 2] Akko’s still absorbed by the grave in front of her. [Panel 3-4] Her gaze eventually falls down to Bernadette’s plate, which reads ‘Bernadette Cavendish, 1969-2009’. “Next year is the tenth anniversary of her death.” Diana tells her from behind, snapping her out of it. [Panel 5] A shot from over them, in the small clear around the tree. She turns towards Diana, who is heading towards the basket she brought with her. “I’m sorry. How did she… ?” She doesn’t finish her sentence.

[Panel 6] Diana’s hand reaches for the picnic. “She had always been sickly, way before I was even born. According to aunt Daryl, ever since she was a child, in fact.” [Panel 7] She unfolds the picnic blanket, not stopping her motions to tell the story of her mother. “After I was born, an ailment took hold of her–r” [Panel 8] She softly prepares the blanket down on the grass. “–and little by little it consumed her.” [Panel 9] Akko is still in shock, she feels sorry for her. “An ailment? Didn’t doctors know how to cure it?”

[Panel 10-11] She smiles faintly with a saddened, painful expression and replies. “One of the problems of being part of an ancient magic lineage is that for as long as there’s been magic in our blood, there too are magic illnesses but no remedies, since the knowledge has been lost.” She explains, while putting down the cutlery on the blanket. [Panel 12] Akko realizes after hearing her story and somberly asks. “That’s also why you want to restore the hospital, isn’t it?” [Panel 13] Emotions run high on Diana’s face, she simply nods as an answer.

Day 04 part 4/

It keeps getting sadder, but this is the most vulnerable we've seen Diana so far. Thank goodness for Akko.

Here lies every Cavendish witch since Beatrix.” [Panel 2] Diana keeps looking into the distance, with her melancholic eyes. “Someday, I too will be part of the forest, if I’m fortunate enough.” [Panel 3] A close up shot of an ancestor's tomb, covered in foliage.

[Panel 4] Akko is deeply in thoughts after this revelation, “Mh?” she mumbles, as she slowly pieces it together. [Panel 5] She suddenly looks in Diana’s direction, a bit panicky as she thinks she may have overstepped by coming after understanding the purpose of their trip. “Diana! Are we… ?” The rest doesn’t come out. [Panel 6] “I planned to come before but there was always something to do.” she replies without needing the rest, as they walk over a bridge. “I’m sorry if I distracted you! I… didn’t know.” Akko apologizes.

[Panel 7] Diana turns her head in Akko’s direction, so she can see her face and with a smile she tells her “Oh no, don’t worry about it. It was nothing you did; in fact, I wanted you to come.” [Panel 8] Akko still is worried, and a little perplexed. [Panel 9] She stares at Diana from behind, her eyes still lost into the distance, her smile has vanished. Diana looks to be lost in thought, perhaps a bit sad in her demeanor.

[Panel 10] They get down from the horses, near a strange open gate. “Are we there?” Akko wonders as she and Diana are undoing the horses’ gear up. [Panel 11] Still paying attention only to her destination, Diana tells her gently “Just a bit further along this glade.” [Panel 12] They start walking on foot and get into another area of the forest. Light here gets through the trees and Akko reaches for the rays. “It feels both denser but brighter around here.” “Yes, I think so too. This is where the, ah, younger trees are, so I wonder if the more recent magic is the culprit.” [Panel 13] They continue on the woodpath to their final destination, surrounded by rays of light, and magical trees, each an eerie tomb in this bright forest.

I have tonight’s dinner menu: roasted pheasant.” Akko jumps to the side of the couch. “I don’t think I’ve ever had pheasant before.” Diana replies. “I’m quite sure you’ll love it. I assume my aunt asked for it.” [Panel 2] Anna answers seriously. “Well, no. She went out with the twins and said they would be back late.” Akko, from the couch, half hidden by the sofa, observes. “Seems like we have the house for ourselves.” [Panel 3] Akko hides behind the sofa mischievously, ready to suggest a prank. “Where should we let Brego and Cupcake in first?” [Panel 4] Anna and Diana laugh at Daryl’s mental image.

[Panel 5] Sliding to the other side of the sofa, Akko comments on Diana's reach for the bookshelf. “Wait. Reading?! You spend the whole year at the library at school anyway, why–” “I need to research something, it will not take long.” [Panel 6] She gives her a book. “Here, this will keep you entertained while I do that.” Akko is not convinced by this idea. [Panel 7] The book’s cover reads “100 YEARS of WITCH OUTFITS in Great Britain and AROUND the WORLD”

[Panel 8] Akko lounges on the couch and opens a random page of the book, skeptical. “How much do you wanna bet that ‘Around the World’ actually means like, three countries in Europe.” Diana’s about to sit to read another book, but takes the time to jokingly answer to her. “Hmmm. And America, too.” “Pff, probably only the United States.” [Panel 9] Diana turns her gaze to Akko, now laying down on the couch to read, with a soft smile. [Panel 10] She caresses the cover of her own paper, titled “Covens, Councils, and Conventions of the 20th Century”.

[Panel 11] The clock is ticking, it’s now almost 7PM. [Panel 12] Diana is deeply focused in her reading. Akko fell asleep in the background. [Panel 13] Her snoring disturbs Diana who now notices she’s sleeping. [Panel 14] A close up shot of Akko’s serene asleep face on the couch, her book still open in her hands.

Diana says that Akko looks adorable while sleeping. BTW Cupcake is the other horse that we didn't see lol we'll see her next day. Guess where her name comes from.

Little Witch Academia fancomic. [Panel 1] Diana’s boot shows she’s walking over grass. [Panel 2] Diana is pouting and sighs. “How’d it go?” she hears. [Panel 3] The voice startles her, not expecting where it comes from. [Panel 4] Akko is laying on the grass with Brosia on top of her. She looks up at Diana waiting for the answer.

[Panel 5] The panel is upside down, showing how Akko is looking at Diana from the ground. “I have to process what said still, but I'll tell you about it when I have.” [Panel 6] Akko sits up and Brosia rolls away. “Hmmm. Okay.” Akko doesn’t push. [Panel 7] Diana stands there awkwardly, not knowing how to work around the lack of nosiness from Akko. [Panel 8] “Do you want to practise broom racing? Winner gets to decide what we do tomorrow.” She finally asks the younger witch, who is playing squishing Brosia’s head. Akko’s attention starts at what she hears.

[Panel 9] Profile of both of them, really close with smug looks on both their faces. “Diana Cavendish, I hope you’re ready to swim in the lake, because I’m gonna win!” Akko threatens.

[Panel 10] A while later, they’re both entering a new room in the mansion, filled with books. “–Honestly, if it hadn’t been for that stupid bird, I would’ve won!” Akko whines, pointing out the door. [Panel 11] “You keep telling yourself that.” Diana is feeling proud of her victory while Akko’s hair is covered in twigs and feathers. Akko pouts and Diana sparkles all around.
