It's been 5 months since I've started working on them and every month I come back and try to improve their speed and getting very minor gains. Managed to shaved off 8 seconds out of a 80 second lap today though

So far the only thing you you could to to your car in beaterCore were repairs. But I'm finally starting to work on tuning, and the first step is ability to purchase and install softer or stiffer suspension springs

Thanks for suggestion! I don't think this kind of visualization will work for smaller components like airfilter/oil, text is a bit more obvious than symbols and doesn't require understanding of how car's drive train looks. But I'll certainly try to stylize the UI a bit more

I think the general shape is pretty close, it's just missing the details like shoelaces and tongue. Also textures can hide bad geometry quite well, specially on smaller objects.

One of the problems I've encountered during play testing the game was misunderstanding of the vehicle damage system. Testers had troubles understanding why their cars broke down, so I'm experimenting with adding on-screen tips on what parts of the car get damaged
